I live in Euless and had Sep-Oct window. Guide contact 9/06, 8 steps opened 9/07, VIN assigned 9/08, ready for delivery email 9/12. Barely had time to sell my Ford to Carmax, get check cleared and pay down payment yesterday. Pick-up of R1T scheduled this afternoon. I also had issues with my current insurance company as they don't have Rivian in their system yet, so had to get a policy on just the Rivian from LIberty Mutual for now. I also had issues with Plaid (used for down payment) and had to wire the down payment instead. Was a stressful day trying to keep things lined up for delivery today to happen.
That’s awesome !!! Out of curiosity did you look into trade in through Rivian . Just wanting to gauge what folks are doing. When did you place your orig order ??

Hey! Newbie Here. San Antonio: ā€˜21 R1S Pre Order with 1st half ā€˜23 delivery window. Any R1S’s in SA yet? I’m impatiently waiting! I’m set on Limestone (even though I’ve never seen one) but still undecided on wheels. Never had an EV.

I am pre-order, work at University Hospital, and already see two R1Ts parking there regularly.

I did get a quote from Rivian. They came in at $22k for my 2015 F150 with 99k miles versus Carmax at $27.6k. Only would have gotten an additional $650 or so in tax savings if I had gone with Rivian, so pulled the trigger with Carmax. Glad I did it when I did, as I didn't have a delivery date yet when I sold it. I checked a couple of local dealers as well and they would have matched Carmax, but would have taken 4 weeks to get checks for the equity since I was paying on the Ford still. Carmax I got the check same-day and it was a really smooth process. I also checked Driveway and Carvana. They were higher than Rivian but lower than local dealers.
Placed original order in first week of December 2021 after realizing my reservation on a Lightning was going nowhere fast (reserved that in May 2021 I think).

Man the Rivian lottery can be maddening. I'm now 6 weeks post Guide contact and configuration confirm, get ready for purchase emails, etc. My Guide just says, "They are trying to match you with a VIN. I can't see anything"

Last year for the Model Y, I checked almost all major providers, finally settled for Progressive, which turned out to be less expensive than what I had before, rest of them quoted way too much. One of them claimed the Y was not old enough in the market, I am wondering how is the insurance scene for R1T?

I don't want to run afoul of any board rules, but, I'd be glad to help anyone out. I'm an independent agency owner and can run quotes with a handful of carriers. I've yet to write my first Rivian (although I have dozens of Tesla clients). I did a preliminary quote with my current carrier for the Rivian and it was just moderately more than my '15 Model S, which I was pretty happy with considering it's 7 years newer.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster since I finally have something to add to the conversation.

I got my confirm config email late Friday night and confirmed immediately. Eight steps opened up early Saturday morning, but I didn't start working those until Sunday morning. Had everything finished by Tuesday afternoon except for step 7 (final payment). Step 5 is finished on my end but still waiting for Rivian to approve 2 documents. Step 8 is locked with a "Preparing Vehicle" notice. Hopefully it will be ready soon...I'm going to text my guide tomorrow if they still haven't finished Step 5 to see what the deal is. I'm in San Antonio but stopped by the Austin SC last week and they were about 2 weeks away from opening which leads me to believe my truck may come from Houston (unless there is a long delay).

I ended up trading in my 2018 Tesla Model 3 to Rivian. They were a few thousand lower than a few other quotes I got, but with the sales tax savings for the trade plus the convenience of turning it in directly to them made it an easy decision. Insurance through USAA is about $300/year higher than it was for my Tesla.

I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow...hopefully they don't tell me it is ready for delivery until after I get back next week.

So I stopped by service center in Austin today. They are open and making deliveries. Unfortunately those deliveries do not include mine. But I did get to see both R1T and R1S there. Also was cool that they had by luck each kind of wheel option so got to see in person. Not every color. No yellow or red canyon or black but everything else. I’ve seen two lime stone now and they are pretty sharp. But I also saw forest green with the black rims on an R1T. That what I have configured for my R1S. Plan to keep as is. I wasn’t able to open the vehicles as they were preparing for delivery but they walked around with me to look at them from the outside. Very kind folks and welcoming.

Congratulations!

This gives me hope. We both have chosen same configuration except mine has AT Brights.

Where does everyone in TX stand w getting a guide assigned ??
Someone on the forum mentioned about clicking on '?' button on the left bottom corner once you login to the account, just now I tried that and I see a guide is already assigned. I have not received any email about it.

That was the same that happened to me on 9/06. I saw that and then reached out to the guide via text and they responded within about 20 minutes.

Quick update. After messaging the guide for the first time, received automated reply immediately, followed by real person replying no later than 10 mins. I just asked them to confirm delivery window, I am on track for the estimated delivery window of Oct/Nov 2022.

Recently joined the Forum and wanted to say hello. A little late to the party but made a $1000 reservation on 9/11/22. Was thinking of reserving right before the price increase, the increase rubbed me the wrong way, then I saw an R1T on the road (and keep seeing it - Stone Oak area) so I decided to move forward with it. The R1T will be replacing my silver 2018 Model 3 sometime in 2024 I suppose. Look forward to learning more from this forum over the next couple years.

If anyone in Stone Oak with an R1T wants to meet up I would love to see one up close!!!
