It’s been a long 3+ years without basic text features.

Over 50% of my on-the-go messaging is groups, for either work or social things. It's ridiculous that my $200 motorcycle helmet intercom and do it, and my $100k truck can't. So stupid.Group messaging is a big reason many of us yap about CarPlay. It's such a simple, and common use case, and it's never implemented in any native systems.
Maybe some how android does this differently with your R1 but what I think you’re talking about is a workaround…..i can say siri read my texts. And it’ll only read texts in order. There’s no visual indicator, without looking at your phone, of who text you. I haven’t figured a way to read texts out of order. Also, i leave my phone on silent, 99% of its existence (and or vibrate only). In this case there’s no audio, And no visual cue that Ive received a text. Apple’s messaging app, through carplay, at least shows you a notification and allows you to pick who’s message you want to have read.I get the ask for Rivian to incorporate some sort of texting app, but honestly, I already have that in my R1S and Siri. I just ask Siri to text a person or group, say what I need to say and it’s off. And receiving a message is just as simple as asking Siri to read my messages. It all works thru the Rivian audio and it’s hands free.
Am I missing something here?

Yeah, and it's just the protocol, the needs to support MMS or RCS, vs. the ancient SMS (which breaks out messages into single recipients).Over 50% of my on-the-go messaging is groups, for either work or social things. So is there actually different software for the R2 that the R1 doesn't get?
