@E.S. Do you really believe that producing 2 R1S vehicles (for CEO and CFO) then focusing back on R1T is really having R1S production started? I think It was total BS and for show only. If that wasn’t dishonest, I am not sure what Rivian would have to do for you to question them.
The Bro-Culture is still strong in Rivian.

How do you define "producing"? Do you think that from Day 1 any manufacturer starts producing any complicated product at peak volumes or do they ramp up to peak volumes while monitoring processes and quality?

To me the R1S is no different than how the R1T started. Right now folks are driving what they believe to be production R1S vehicles, and they are monitoring them, and seeing how it works out. Making tweaks maybe, and then they will produce some more.

This is no different than a canary deployment release of software. Engineering releases a new update, they route 10% of their production traffic to that new update. How is it going? It's going well. Ok, shift 25% of the traffic? Bug discovered, roll back and fix it and try again. Or still good, go to 50% or maybe you just go to 100% at that point and retire the old version.

When Engineering did that 10% they though they had the release for production, but maybe they were wrong or maybe not.

Do you really believe that they are doing nothing with the R1S right now, that they released those two trucks and then focused 100% back on the R1T? Or do you think all those pictures we're seeing of R1Ts coming in are vehicles they believe are production vehicles?

I think we'll see a lot more R1S information starting on 3/10 including the stuff us reservation holders are waiting on (detailed walkthroughs, press reviews starting up) - The new R1S information will be used to temper any disappointing news around production ramp.

In all honestly, it's not about that. I truly do not care if "I win" or I got the last word it. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong and will own up to it. I'm just not bothered nor concerned with the whole wait thing and I at times struggle to understand why others are letting this get to them when they know full well how much of a steep up-hill battle Rivian is and will be facing in the next several months.

I too could care less when I get my vehicles (R1T and R1S). I don’t NEED either of them. I know I complain about poor communication, but no communication is better than deceptive communication.

I am wave 1. The dealer confirmed, accepted, and placed my order within hours... Then contacted me 5 days later to sign my order summary, lol.

No production or estimated delivery date yet...

Very true! They aren’t any better. When are F-150 Lightning deliveries?

They are all BS, but does that make it right? Rivian had an opportunity to do things different.

Lightning is supposed to start production towards the end of March. Delivery estimate is 24+ weeks for every wave. Late June would be the earliest estimated delivery. No one has a concrete date yet.

Lightning is supposed to start production towards the end of March. Delivery estimate is 24+ weeks for every wave. Late June would be the earliest estimated delivery. No one has a concrete date yet.

There were a couple of options I had as wave three that landed at 20+ weeks.
