Impossible to get a mobile/service center appt for tire rotation. Any suggestions for where I can get my tires rotated in/around Westchester, NY? I don’t have the pucks.

Make sure where ever you go has the correct pucks. I asked a tire store yesterday and they said they didn't need pucks. The Rivian will sustain damage without pucks. Also they must follow the instructions in the service manual as raising the trucks suspension putting it in service mode and using a socket that has a plastic shield so as not to damage the wheels.

Good advice. Our first YouTube video on our new channel gives some simple instructions on how to use magnetic jack pucks for servicing your tires/wheels.

Getting a set of pucks is a really good idea. Any tire shop that tells you they do not need them is either really knowledgeable about Rivians or they don’t have a clue and are guessing. Too many stories are here where the plastic panels of Rivian’s were crushed by tire shops that guessed wrong.

if neither you nor the tire shop have pucks, you will need to pull the panels before you go. Doing it in the parking lot will take too much time.

Buy the pucks on Amazon, and head to your nearest Mavis Discount Tire - there are several in Westchester. Alternatively, if you’re feeling brave and want to DIY, feel free to DM me (I’m in Westchester too). I have jacks, tools, etc. and I can help you rotate the tires.

Not sure I'd trust "pucks on Amazon." Best pucks, and best customer service by far, seem to be from @Mark_AZR1T at www.jackpucks.com . Well worth the extra price, which was fairly modest.

Mark earned more than his price when he gave wise advice, which we needed because Costco Tire was uncertain whether they could proceed safely. With Mark's help, Costco did the job confidently and safely.

Disclosure: No conflict of interest. Just a happy customer....

Thanks. I just checked Amazon (again). We're the number one seller there as well and Amazon Choice.

There are other options, if you don't require road side repairs and need a bottle jack, don't mind if you have a puck with a metal base on a metal surface, and are okay with refrigerator magnets and all profits that stay overseas.

Okay, I give. Why?
There have been at least two Rivian's that have slid off flat commercial tire lifts, not totalling the vehicle, but hanging off the side and damaging the off road plates underneath, when a metal puck slipped on a metal flat lift area.

When I was first designing ours, I noticed they can slip on a floor jack as well. That is why we developed our Grip Tech Tactile Caps. Our mountain bike shoes have a super sticky rubber sole, which literally latches onto our flat pedals, so I thought, that is the rubber we need for our pucks.

So, I had a similar compound put together for our product. Small price to pay for some peace of mind. People are interesting. They don't mind paying $80K-$120K for a Rivian, but purchase inferior products to work on their Rivian's. I get it, Harbor Freight exists for a reason.

We should feel flattered there are dozens of Chinese competitors on Amazon who have tried to duplicate our product and we still dominant sales and support. Lifetime guarantee for original owners. If a magnet has an issue, we replace them, if you are unhappy, we do something about it.....

It depends how they lift your vehicle. They don’t need the pucks depending on their setup.

that said, if you’re an owner, you should keep a set of pucks in your vehicle. They are not expensive and it’s something that is “needed”
