Touring east coast RAN locations

On our road trip from Connecticut to Savannah I only wish there were more Rivian Adventure Network charging locations along the I-95 corridor. The three we’ve stopped at have been operating perfectly and immediately available. The simple no App swiping or card swiping at these locations is really cool.

Here’s the Pooler, Georgia RAN location this morning.

NIce to hear they were all working and easy to use. I was curious that they seemed to choose the I-81 corridor for the initial concentration, although it will work for us next year when we plan to start taking our R1T to Florida from MA instead of our van.

They focused the RAN up and down I-81 in Virginia. EA has plentiful, and in our experience, reliable chargers up and down 95 from DC to South Carolina.

I do agree it would be nice to eventually see some more RAN locations on 95.

I was super pleased (and perplexed) to see a RAN stations in “no where” Waynesboro and Front Royal, Virginia.

I was thinking they chose that corridor for the Blue Ridge “adventure”. Weather permitting, we are going to take a side trip at Front Royal onto the Blue Ridge Parkway this January when we head south for a couple of months in our Sprinter camper.

We did the entire Blue Ridge Parkway and charged only on RAN, which were free at the time. Beautiful scenery during peak times mostly. Did 1200 miles total, BRP one way only, did interstate on way back. Highly recommend this trip.

As others have noted, RAN sites are more plentiful on the route further inland but RANs are still pretty spotty along the heavily traveled I-95. The newest RAN in Delaware just south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge is a welcome addition.
