Sounds like there might be a bug some people are experiencing where the truck going to sleep includes sleeping the charging module. Try putting the truck into camp mode "stay on" and see if it stops doing it.
It's possible the bug is a result of bad hardware but if you need to use the truck, obviously you need to use alternate means.
