Yes. Expiring lease, not a current owner. I felt very fortunate to get the invite. My EV6 expires at the end of this month. Don’t forget the other criteria Rivian is using, reservation date and random reservation holders.

Thanks - It really makes sense that Rivian is prioritizing people with expiring leases because the rest of us can wait a little longer. If Rivian is able to sell thousands more R2s now (versus waiting until the buyer's new leases expire), then I'm happy waiting another month or two for our "within the first 10 minutes of reservations on Day 1 and current R1S owner" golden ticket to come up.

Enjoy your new ride! I did a test drive last week but it was only about 15 minutes around the King of Prussia mall so I didn't get much of a chance to really see how it handles. The nice thing about our test drive was that it was in a Glacier White (our choice) R2 with the black interior - we originally wanted the Ocean Cloud interior but I think my wife changed her mind to black. Hopefully that will help us in the queue.

I originally was thinking the light interior and then my wife reminded my how dirty my G80 white interior got..
I did 2 test drives each was less then 30 mins and really enjoyed the feel of it.
I was up your way in PA a few weekends ago, stopped at the KOP Ionna to charge up before heading down to MD.

Hey, Tysons is right across the street from one of my offices. Have been meaning to pop in (since the R2 came out) but haven't had a chance yet.

When I took delivery of my R1T at Richmond SC in 2023, I'd never driven an EV before in my life, and only rode once in a Tesla. I watched lots of videos and read the manual in advance. Drove around the block for an hour with the delivery specialist then headed on my 90 mile drive home. By the time I got back, I felt like an expert. You'll be fine. Just don't do it on a holiday weekend when everyone and their brother is coming to the mall.

Also since it seems relevant, does anyone know Is Sterling SC not doing demos or deliveries yet?

Sterling is currently only a service center. They are not doing demo drives or deliveries. When I was there in June they told me all R2 deliveries will be taking place at Gaithersburg for the near future (DC area).
