Update 2025.06 is out!

Dual, non-perf Canadian owner here -
My email stated $7400 for the upgrade, though detailed article on the update states $7200 (made sure to screenshot). I've been waiting for this, and I know that I don't need it at all... But still seriously considering the upgrade.
Have also been waiting for the wheel-swap update, and VERY happy to see this included finally! I do already have an appointment for this Thursday to get my 21's back on - can't wait to ditch the studded Nokians for the season!
Thank you Rivian for continuously making my truck better and better!!

Dang 5k for the upgrade.. Not much incentive for people to do it, since they could have done that from the get-go. I really thought it would have been cheaper, maybe even for a limited time offer, make it like 3k for a month or so, so it'll make people purchase it because it would be a good deal. At 5k, I don't think many will end up doing it. Hopefully end of quarter will have better deals for it.

If they made it cheaper, it would piss off everyone who paid for it with their delivery.

I understand that aspect. But Rivian changed their prices and a lot of people got a steal at 75k price point too. If Rivian wants to make profit, they should lower the price to entice people to upgrade.

Plus Rivian also gave a bunch of people Performance Upgrade for free. A bunch who had the max pack, got it for free.

If it was cheaper, they'd have to lower the price of the performance dual motors in inventory and in the configurator. Who would pay $5,000 for one in inventory or configure it as a $5,000 option if they can simply buy it after the fact for less money? I'm not at all surprised it's the same price.

They could absolutely do it for a limited time or end of quarter. They have done plenty of other deals like PPF/Sealth Matte for free, etc... this can also be done.

If Rivian made it cheaper then people wouldn't buy it at delivery. It has to cost the same as the delivery price. People might decide they want it months or even years later, this just provides that option. The real question is why wouldn't they do this? It's a win-win...people who want it get it, and Rivian gets some more revenue.

Not saying it would be permanent, but a limited time offer to those who can upgrade now, give them a window of like 30 days, at a lower price. Otherwise, price goes back to 5k after that 30 day window.
