So if it's June or July, I'd mentally assume June to September. That's with basically any manufacturer right now though.
Same, I'm rounding to "The end of the Quarter" that they give me.

They say July 22, I'd set my expectations for "Q3 CY22", so anywhere from July to Sept of that year.

If it's all the way out to 2023, I'm just rounding to the half mark (July 2023 = sometime between July of 2023 and Dec 2023).

I just ordered a Volvo XC40 Recharge for the wife, Volvo told me 6 weeks to get it to me. I just got the official delivery date of March 2022.

So... yeah... pad what ever time you get I would say, even well established manufacturers are struggling with parts issues, transit problems, etc...

Thinking I may switch my Adventure package to the R1T and then the LE to R1S. This should give Rivian some time to figure out the tonneau cover!

Did you do this after getting a delivery window on the R1T? If so, how did the change affect it?

That is not the only advantage. R1S is shorter and easier to park. Shorter wheelbase so it may do better off road. More interior space. You can put more space between roof racks for more stability if you have a Kayak. I may not be able to call it an adventure vehicle without a full size spare but if inflatable spare can get me out of mild off road situations, It is worth it.

R1S is also easier to park in a garage also. And easier to parallel park. Which is something I am considering. I've made it 30 years driving without owning a truck, not sure I need one now.

Here is my thinking and background on this: My wife is a more practical person than me. She already had a Subaru, she is into gardening and was pushing for a truck. She found one on Craig’s list and I bought it with reluctance. We don’t need the bed regularly but I would be lying if didn’t tell you when we do, it is really nice to have it. Filling up the back with yard trash or dirty stuff from Home Depot and not worrying about making it dirty is nice.

At first you feel like you just came from Krypton and you can save the day for family and friend but before you know it the superhero thing gets old and you just want to be left alone. Now I am thinking, R1T bed is too small for it to have the Truck advantage and R1S is wide enough to put a plywood inside with the tailgate open (which I would have to do in R1T as well). I can use a tarp if I have to carry anything dirty or use a trailer if I have to carry anything big. Loading my motorcycle on a trailer is much easier in back of R1S and I doubt it will fit in bed of R1T anyway. I can take a nap in back of R1S and larger interior space gives you more options to keep stuff safe from people and weather. I wouldn’t want to tow anything much heavier than the vehicle itself so 7700 Ib is enough for me. And who am I kidding, R1S simply looks better.

Road to disappointment is paved with expectations. I already checked my email one minute after midnight.

Hope you wrong, I reserved in July. I was optimistic for 22 but that is fading quickly.
I ordered December 2018 and have dwindling hope I'll see mine in 22!

I know you said you got this information from CS in a other thread, but as with all CS responses I would take it with a grain of salt.

When others have asked, we've gotten more detailed dimensions:
https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...ving-the-5-seat-configuration.2205/post-59552

The W201 measurement is 1151/1084 (5seat/7seat) minimum width. This is the space in-between the wheel wheels. This is less than the 48in width of a standard sheet of ply.

I think I officially qualify as an addict....every time my phone has gone off today my heart rate has increased until I see it was just another notification from Amazon.

If I see a "from" line from Rivian in my email I might faint.

Thanks for sharing that info. Are you sure W201 refers to the floor not top of the opening in the back? If pathfinder can do it at $25K less, R1S should too. That would be a bummer if this is true. If R1S is on the same platform as R1T, they should be able to make it work.

OK now that I am done with kicking and screening, I should note the post you shared is from the time the photo bellow was circulating. If you pay attention to the interior sides, it is much narrower that the R1S RJ just received. I remain hopeful production R1S is plywood friendly and anxiously waiting for the first real owner feedback.

IIRC it is the narrowest point in the 3rd row per the SAE standard, which should be the further inward point arm rest in your second picture.

The first picture was from the LA Auto show, or around that time period. To the data I linked to earlier was apparently provided by CS a few months ago. I would suggest reading through that linked thread, we discussed the dimensions quit a bit in there.. also there was dedicated thread on fitting sheet goods:

https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/hauling-sheet-goods-long-lumber-in-r1s.2178/#post-62411

Some more food for thought, just going by your second picture, you can think of the floor space available as the total width of the 3rd row. Is there at least 48 inches there? I would guess not.

Edit: adding link
