Rivian may not have pushed it to you, yet. I haven't gotten it, either. Previous OTAs have taken a week or longer for everyone to get it.

Let me clarify. I have basically disabled phone as key because it draws so much phone battery power. It is supposed to be disables when at home but it definitely still notices when I walk near the vehicle and flashes the taillights.
What you've "disabled at home" is the proximity locking/unlocking (which can also be disabled everywhere). I have mine set that way, and...yes...walking near the Rivian does cause it to "notice" your presence. This is all from the "vehicle side" (not the phone side) of things.

If the app is drawing too much phone battery, the solution to that is to just close the app. I do this periodically (mostly when swiping through and shutting down numerous apps that don't need to be open). When I do, I get a pop up message on the phone that the app will need to be re-opened to "use my phone as a key". When it's closed, it's not using phone battery. You won't get a taillight flash then either (any more than you would if your phone was off completely).

Remember, when looking at "Battery" under "Settings" (on an I-phone), the % that you see displayed is the proportional percentage of (all) use that a specific app consumed, not the percentage of battery. If you only have two apps in play and they draw equal power, each will show 50%. This is semi-useless information except that it does let you see where your battery is "going".

If you close the app, you can approach the vehicle (even get inside) and bluetooth will never engage on your phone (it's easy enough to prove this). If you think it is burning battery by "looking" for the Rivian, then (as long as you don't have something else paired ...like an Apple Watch) you can just turn off all bluetooth with the slide button in Settings on your phone if it makes you feel better. Your phone's bluetooth should not be "discoverable" when Bluetooth is not open in Settings, hence it's not going to be looking for something that's looking for it.

I WANTED ANOTHER RANGE INCREASE!

But if we're getting this kind of of updates for the forseeable future, the truck will continue improving in meaningful ways. I think they'll work out most of my complaints eventually.
Regarding your sig.....

R1T Adventure | FG & FE | Max pack Large Pack | 21" Road | Camp Kitchen
Ordered Feb '22, Factory Delivery 12/22

The only thing rarer than someone who ordered a kitchen is someone who cancelled one. Was was it that changed your mind? :)

Them not offering it anytime soon ?
It was honestly one of the key things that got us excited about the truck. But while waiting on it to arrive we bought a camper, so it's kind of redundant.
