Volvo is removing the lidar sensor and making it a paid option from next year. Luminar (the supplier) is now suing Volvo for breach of contract.

Volvo doesn’t think it can write the software needed to use it? So make it a paid option? It’s inactive currently right?

Rivian R1T Launch 4/22
I just bought a used ev90 ultra performance with Bowers and Wilkins stereo (even Out of Spec says it's the best in the industry). Marquez Brownlee says it's as quiet as a Rolls Royce. I just sold my R1T after owning it since launch because I'm not convinced their sales will increase enough with tariffs and inflation for the company to survive in it's current form - I sure hope they do though. I bought the EX90 with only 2k miles with MSRP of around $90k for $59k. I can't tell you how many times my Rivian bricked over the years, and had to be towed back for service numerous times over the years. Software was glitchy too. In Jan/Feb Volvo is going to switch out the current computer with a new Nvidia chip with new software. Volvo as a company can't mess this up or their company is essentially over since they are moving to all EV eventually. I did love my Rivian, but it's still a startup and 90% dodn't make it. And I still have a lot invested in their stock, but the economy has changed unfortunately.
