Seeing a lot of good deals on MY23 and 24! Rivian itself it going hard on incentives. But refresh is around the corner. Thoughts from the group? Grab a deal now or wait for the MY25?

deals on 2023 or 2024 will still be available after the refresh announcement in just few days… why commit now if you can have the full specs of each version to make your mind soon ? The deals may even get better on the original version after the refresh launch

Great point! And likely used Rivians on Cars and Bids will fall even more!

Current (pre-refresh) models are going quick. I was working on getting an R1S lined up and my preferred colors, wheels, etc. were gone. One popped up and my guide and I were able to snag it quick.

My logic for getting in on deals now before refresh is that rumors are prices won't go down on refresh to allow Rivian to finally make a profit. Sounds like they are starting at lower trim levels, so was worried about range on smaller battery pack and less performance motors.

So, in the end I went for the great lease deal offerings on Quad/Large R1S. I asked Rivian Guide if he thought I would regret with some of the changes coming in the refresh and he said, "I think you are well informed buyer and won't regret it".

Just my 2 cents.

There at least two lengthy threads on leaked details about refresh features. Read those, weigh against your needs and wants to decide for yourself.

That doesn’t sound re assuring. That makes me nervous that higher trims won’t come.

Think it really depends on what you want.

I drove a 23 Quad and didn’t love it. Assumed 24 Dual would be same if not worse. Totally wrong. Quieter. Better ride. More controlled acceleration. Everything seemed to work better (like wireless charger).

I think the refresh will be similar. To each their own. My best guess is (in MY opinion) - it will look worse on the exterior, it will be more cheaply made (not necessarily a bad thing, but not my preference), and it will have a few interior/user things with improved functionality.

I personally didn’t wait. I knew the exact configuration I wanted and grabbed it on the store when it became available. No regrets and couldn’t be happier. I’m also sure there will be software upgrades and more improvements to come, so no FOMO here.

So if you know your exact build and are ready to buy - do it. If you’re undecided, being this close to the official refresh announcement - give it time.

Atlanta seems to have more inventory on the site last I looked... only 2 white R1S on site for Denver
Yeah Atlanta has a good amount, but I don’t see my spec. However, if I were to do pre refresh, it would be white/ocean/dual/performance dual large pack. But I hope if the refresh releases soon, it will bring the higher trims and not just the lower.

White and Ocean seem to be most available. I did Quad/Large in LA Silver / Mtn Black with 20" wheels, which for leasing was much cheaper than Perf Dual / Large - estimated approx $100 less on lease per month with all other factors (amount down, etc.)

Only pause I had was rumor of heat pump since I live in mountains, but can always upgrade when lease is up a couple years down the road. Honestly don't think you can go wrong pre or post refresh. Rivians are incredible!

Each have their own reasons for either choice and both will be great trucks to own. My personal choice to wait is based on that I do not remember any car that I owned which was worst than its previous iteration in my entire adult life… so for me to get the deals on 2023/2024 would be solely motivated by the lower price and nothing else.

Such a simple decision for you at this point: Wait 5 days. Next.
