Besides earlier Tesla's, which EVs use 3-4 kWh overnight?
None. That'd be like 10% loss or more per day for everything except the largest batteries.

My ID.4 would have been well below 50% SOC half the time I got into it if that were the case, and I left it outside.

Thanks Max! I'll say this. Every EV manufacturer uses a different algorithm to estimate the available energy in their battery pack. Some are more accurate than others, but at the end of the day they all are just estimations.

Thats completely fair and honestly surprised you even said as much as you did, obviously your opinion/experience and not an official response from Rivian.

I would totally report to service if I thought that 3kWh is unique to my truck but as others have reported similar in ideal conditions, and as your a senior service tech I think we both know what I would be told.
I would seriously encourage you to put in a service call if you are not OK with this if for nothing else just so it is recorded. I don't have a garage, and if R1 is this bad in perfect conditions, power loss in summer and winter would be even more significant for me. Rivian as a company should know what their customers think about their products so they can adjust accordingly. If everyone that is unhappy stay quiet, they can not improve the product and I may not be able to drive the R1S I have been dreaming about.

My response should have been 3kW. It autocorrected to 3KWh. A kW and a kWh are two different things.

Units are the worst. :)

3kw would be absurdly high. To put that into context an ID.4 would die in a day with that.

Given the size of the battery, anything more than 1%-2%/24 hours in reasonable temps (above say 35 and below 90) on the R1T seems excessive to me personally. That'd be in the range of 50 to 100w while it just hangs out.
