Wiper high speed hitting pillar

Had a heavy rain last night and while the wipers hit the highest speed they seemed to be knocking into the driver a pillar. It was very loud knock inside the cabin when this was happening. Has anyone else noticed this slight issue?

Can't say I've noticed that specifically - haven't had rain enough to see it - I do though feel the vibration of the wiper motor in the accelerator pedal which is a bizarre one. Somehow the action of the motor is being transferred down to the pedal. Annoying enough that I can't 'forget' it - it's persistent.
