June 9 - R2 order invites, first customer deliveries and demo drives begin!

I've seen posts on facebook and reddit that ppl started getting emails YESTERDAY WEDNESDAY that they would be able to order on June 9th!.. is it happening.

Some people may be misunderstanding the emails. If you are in the first wave of people able to order, you will get an email on 9th June saying you can. If you don’t then you are in a later batch.

Yeah, pretty sure these are people just misinterpreting the email that everyone got.

I live in New Mexico. No Demo or service center. Looks like I will be left out in the cold. Good thing I am on the list for an IX3.

Who's taking delivery on the 9th? Is it more employees who (some, I believe) have already taken delivery? Or will review videos post to various social media platforms on the 9th with people who've taken delivery... which I'd be fine with, actually.

No R2's at the Woodbury, LI service center... Plenty of Amazon vans...

My employee friend still doesn't have a delivery date yet for his order. But it's still entirely possible his vehicle is already at the SC getting PDI done.

I wonder how often the batch emails will go out? Once a month, once a week? Probably depends on how many orders are received from each batch of emails.

My guess is once a week. They need to move about 4k cars a month to hit the 26k by EOY. That’s a lot of cars for a small brand.

My bad..Coastal Cloud interior is the interior I'm waiting for. Black in the southwest is an oven.

My guess is once a week. They need to move about 4k cars a month to hit the 26k by EOY. That’s a lot of cars for a small brand.

It's more extreme than that as this won't be an even monthly number due to the ramp up. Higher production rates are in the latter part of the year. Tail end of the year could be bumpy as those high production rates will require a lot of coordination and deliveries.
