https://riviantrackr.com/2026-20/One thing I didn't notice on my R2 demo drive that I noticed in my R1S demo drive - the ability to add your garage door openers. Can anyone confirm that R2 also works with HomeLink?
Coming soon
While not included in this release, the following features are expected soon via a subsequent OTA update:
- Rivian Assistant
- Gear Guard suite
- Vehicle hotspot
- Garage door opener
I managed to get up to ~ 80-82 for about 3 miles.. WIND noise in the cabin seemed quite good, although there was an annoying wind/fan issue coming from the rear. I purposely turned off the rear vents and climate system, and that didn't help. I THINK it was the seat cooling FANS in the passenger seat, but it was there. We had them on high, as the overall climate control system wasn't really helping enough at the time.Any thoughts on road noise usually related to tires and wind noise? I'm guessing test drives are too short to really test this well.
I felt my Highland Model 3 was quieter than the R1S I test drove. I wonder if the R2 is quieter than the R1.I managed to get up to ~ 80-82 for about 3 miles.. It didn't sound like wind noise and wasn't coming for mirrors, or doors.
The main noise was the tires, and that was the most perceptable noise in the cabin and I think it was simply that they were new, semi-knobboy (there were the 21" pirelli so its' not really KNOBS)
Overall cabin was noticeable quieter than my TM3LR with some additional noise deadening materials added, it's probably NOT as quiet as a new Highland M3 but I haven't spent enough time in that to tell.
Most ppl with R1s say the R2 is quieter, might be better fit and finish, less materials in doors and overall, or sound proofing? or slightly less rubber on road.I felt my Highland Model 3 was quieter than the R1S I test drove. I wonder if the R2 is quieter than the R1.

no Homelink in the mirror, native app in the UIOne thing I didn't notice on my R2 demo drive that I noticed in my R1S demo drive - the ability to add your garage door openers. Can anyone confirm that R2 also works with HomeLink?
Knowing what a predatory company Clear Channel is, I would never give any of their properties a penny of my money. I'm well covered with Apple Music, and Tidal. Maybe someday I'll consider Qobuz, but there are streaming issues with them I can't use. Mostly related to Roon Media player. But I'm encouraging Roon to create an App that can work with Rivian's OS 2.iHeartMedia and Audacy own a majority of the radio stations in the USA. iHeartMedia is a re-brand of the old Clear Channel. Audacy is a re-brand of the Infinity/CBS company.
Pretty sure all of the iHeart channels can be streamed on iHeartRadio now. And a lot of the Audacy channels are on TuneIn. They both have paid options that also give you access to ad-free on-demand catalogs of music, podcasts, etc. I'd think the free options would remain free because they are increasing the coverage of their channel and can show that their local ads reach a wider market. Lets them sell advertising for more money because they have more listeners. iHeart's free plan has been free for a long time now. Some of the other radio station aggregators also use TuneIn. Audacy does have their own streaming app now too. Some Audacy channels are also on iHeart - so there is some kind of partnership there as well. It's confusing - but I think you are safe to keep listening to your local channel on TuneIn without any additional commercials. Just what you'd hear if you tuned in from an FM radio.
Found this on Rivian's site and I'm 99% sure I saw it on the screen during my R2 demo:

My half hour test was plenty long. And my experience is rather limited (my Subaru runs out of juice after about 22 miles - talk about range issues!) I do have a feel for using it in EV mode. And I was very happy with the cabin noise in the R2. I know I'll have zero complaints.Any thoughts on road noise usually related to tires and wind noise? The only tires on all of the demo cars is the R2 Performance with the 21 inch tires. At least that's what they told me yesterday.Has anyone done a test drive with the 20” A/T tires? Almost everyone that I’ve seen that has posted here (including myself) drove with the 21s.
Wondering about tire noise with the A/Ts (it was very quiet with the 21” all seasons).
R1's issue is the triangle window on front doors and the design causes a lot of wind buffeting (sp?) I can't drive with the windows down as I like to as just too much turbulence and unpleasant on ears. Only real dislike on my R1'sMost ppl with R1s say the R2 is quieter, might be better fit and finish, less materials in doors and overall, or sound proofing? or slightly less rubber on road.
