I believe you, don't worry that's not my point. But honestly that picture could be a test drive unit or whatever, my point is everyone is so concerned about deliveries and invite email, I think they don't realize how few of these are actually being delivered in this initial roll out

All good. On my pickup day there was 2 others getting theirs. Also saw 2 today (blue) on my drive.

Anyways here's my plates. It's very real not a test drive.

I love it so far. It actually rides better than my R1T and is quieter inside.

That is insane! I'm no car expert but is it something where air suspension is really more about ride height adjustment vs general smoothness?

I would imagine R1S would be way smoother.

...I haven't see much on twitter or youtube from actual owners flexing their new toy. My assumption is there are far less deliveries in this first batch than people think....

This is why I'd asked the OP what VIN series he'v vehicle is. It is still under 1,000 so Rivian has. clearly have not made a significant amount of R2. The production numbers today probably is higher than 1K so they are building them quickly.

I'm sure Rivian is shipping out every vehicle they've made to most population density heavy cities first with the largest orders. The OC, CA has just over 3 million and LA county has almost 10 million; hence, more R2 headed to the southland.

As for the social media posts, well, I never pay attention to those anyway.

I would think that at least with the R1T - Gen1 owners they would reward us a little.

You don't think getting a brand new quad R1T with all the launch extras for $65,500 (MSRP - $7,500 tax credit) was reward enough?

The demo vehicle I drove the other day had a VIN in the mid 700s. These had to have been made more than 2 weeks ago so that they could get them to the service centers by the 9th.

Rivian is WELL over 1,000 vehicles made by this point. My guess is over 2,000.

The demo units alone must be somewhere between 200-500, if each of the 100 service centers gets a few. I think the Q2 production numbers are going to surprise a lot of people, since the "consensus" was that they will deliver only 400 by the end of June.

Yeah, this morning I went to my local service center to get something fixed on my truck, and they had 2 demo R2's there.

My R1T has wind noise from around 50mph, was your R1T noisy or more reasonable? Asking to then use that as a baseline for how good the R2 is.

Yep, it was all wind noise. I've had that issue since day one. It was all coming from my A-pillar area. Many trips to service, and they still couldn't solve it.

Thanks, similar to my experience. So good to hear R2 is better.

To the other question about deliveries for Q2 I assume the hundreds of units shipped to spaces/demo centers would not count but the employee sales and now customer sales would.

I'm sure they are too, but they also need need to play corporate financial gymnastics on what to delivery for best stock and news cycle performance.
