This is a great idea! I saw a post from somebody that sort of explained the process they went through once they got the order email. They said they did receive a VIN (1134 I think), was told it was being built "or something like that" and they expect to receive on 6/30.

I didn't place a reservation until August 2025. I do wish I had placed one earlier.

Unfortunately for me, I am not a current R1 owner. I do, however, live in Los Angeles and have a few service centers/demo locations within about 20-30 miles of me so I would love it if proximity helped my reservation out a bit.

I am definitely interested in a Launch Edition and I left work early on Thursday and I was able to schedule a demo drive in the afternoon. Not surprisingly, I was very pleased with the drive.

I also got the email stating I would find out at the end of June what to expect regarding my reservation.

Speaking of deliveries. This is the first R2 I’ve seen without MFG plates. I think this means a real production vehicle in somebody’s driveway. I’m suspect it’s a Rivian employee, but one who bought the vehicle and had it delivered (or maybe picked it up in Normal and drove it back).

Is that Launch Green? Had my test drive today, saw all the color 'swatches' and still not sure what color I want other than what I don't want. The Half Moon Grey had a lot of green in the 'swatch' that I saw. I wish they had added the yellow that was available for a very short time in the R1S. or the Red

Bit of a semantics question here:
Is the location your address, or your pickup location? I am in New York but I'll be picking it up in New Jersey.

The form asks if they are purchasing and leasing as well as if they previously had an R1. Might be helpful to know if their previous vehicle (R1) was a purchase or a lease. There are currently 4 that did not have an R1 prior to this order so I'd be curious if their lease was up (as Rivian has stated would a factor to bump people up). Can help other gauge some of the selection process.

What this shows is the vast majority of people ordered on the first day they could, with very few others sprinkled in.
