What charging gear does R2 come with? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Apologies if this has been covered but I didn’t see anything concrete on a quick search.

Does the r2 come with the portable charger as standard? Also can anyone confirm if it came with any adapters for non-nacs fast or L2 chargers?

I have an original rivian wall charger non-nacs and i’m getting an R2 when invited. Curious if I have to buy some adapters for home and for fast charging at non-nacs dc chargers.

They all adopted the CARB rules requiring EV companies to provide them starting in 2026 model year.

If you’re not in one of those states mentioned, I’d get the following from shop.tesla.com for the most compatibility with AC charging.

Mobile Connector - $300
NEMA Adapter Bundle - $245
SAE J1772 Charging Adapter - $50

Probably don't need the adapter bundle unless you have a specific use case and even then you can buy them individually for $35-$45 each. The mobile connector comes with 5-15 and 14-50 adapters.

It would help if the people working at the Rivian stores knew this. I have asked 2 different people in person to confirm this and get a different answer each time. Today I was told "just buy that stuff from us here in the shop so if you have any issues, it's easy to return."

Rivian needs to educate there employees on the floor about this benefit in the states indicated. I'll be sure to very closely look at the final paper work to ensure the items are all included and the cost has been backed out.
