On the passenger side! Then people could pull into Tesla Superchargers without having to disconnect and reconnect their trailers!!! It also makes it easier to get access to your trunk if you’re grocery shopping. And finally if curbside charging ever becomes a thing the R2 would be ready to go, as we park on the right in the US.
Granted I won't be able to tow this trailer with my R2, but I don't think I will mind where it's at that much. It'd make using the Rivian pull thrus impossible if it were on the other side.

I would like to point out that while this would piss me off, Tesla had this happen with some of the latest Model Y Juniper as well. Just bricked out the gate, not sure what the resolution was.
I’ve seen it happen with legacy autos so it’s just something to expect. The thing to watch is if it’s happening often or not.

Unfortunately the charge port door is pure ass. I had to take my R2 in for re alignment. I am sure this will be alot of owners complain once they receive the vehicle. Door is ass.

Not a door it's just a flop.

Pure ass.
It feels very flimsy. This was one item that surprised us at our demo drive.

Paint some yellow lines on the other side of the charger and you’re good to go. 😜

There are quite a few that aren't just in the middle of a parking lot. I'd say this station is more the exception that you might be somewhat okay being on the wrong side.

Of the Stations I have been to, Traverse City has normal stations on the other side. Grayling has the power equipment and other stations on the other side.

Benton Harbor ends up blocking another station because it isn't designed as a pull thru, or you block an aisle of traffic. Mackinaw city doesn't have a pull thru at all.

Toledo would require parking backwards with your trailer hanging out into the aisle, making it difficult for people to use the normal RAN stations.

Clare might actually be the best situation of any of the chargers, but it's often blocked by inconsiderate ICE drivers that have trailers, and you're going to be making that turn difficult for others.

But it still stands that there was no actual consideration for any of these stations for vehicles that might have a passenger side charger while pulling a trailer. Using any of the normal spots means blocking traffic.

12V Battery likely. Why does everyone accept delivery with such obvious flaws so you have to go back to get them to fix it? How can it leave the factory that way?

It's as if Rivian has learned nothing in the last 2 years. No better way to lose money that to do the same job twice instead of correctly the first time.
Rivian's corporate motto is "We do it nice, because we do it twice".

Have you seen any other R1 ever made? QC on these cars is terrible straight out the gate.
Yeah, I owned a 2023 R1T for a little over a year and a half. It was perfect right out of the factory, never even one issue with it and the panels and gaps were excellent.

TBH, I don't think any new R2 owners should be surprised at all when they discover flaws and glitches on their brand new R2 SUVs because it's a new model from a still relatively new company. Indeed, I think it would be naive to think otherwise. Ironically, they are paying premium prices to be beta testers. I fully expected a slate of problems to be solved with my Gen 2 R1T because it was still a new company with limited manufacturing experience, but surprisingly, in my case, the only real flaw I discovered was a whistling driver's window, which the local SC fixed, once they got the parts needed.

There will undoubtedly be other flaws and problems that crop up in the R2, and no, there is no need to panic or conclude that Rivian is a shoddy brand (yet), I mean anyone with any awareness of manufacturing and delivery of a new automotive model (along with training the service techs on it) should be very clear-eyed about what they are purchasing. Yes, you are going to find flaws in your brand new vehicle. Hopefully they will be relatively minor nuisances. As long as Rivian faithfully fixes them, you should be fine. Worse case is that there will be a model-wide recall -- but that happens even to the long-established brands who've been doing it for decades.

And as for as the charge door, I think it's a miss aesthetically; IMHO if they kept the horizontal line to the fender, it would look better and any minor misalignment would be harder to see.
Sorry disagree, a new product design should not assume expected flaws. We as consumers need to push all companies for better quality products. Vehicles, electronics , appliances, etc

I don't disagree that we should expect better. But there is a difference between the world as it should be and the world as it is. I strive for the ideal, I deal with the reality.

Yes and yet we whine constantly about delays and increased cost....

Fast, cheep or good, pick two. And sometimes only get one.

Which two (or one) is R2? It's been over two years since the reservation... so we can strike "fast". "Cheap" is a relative term... what's cheap for one person is not necessarily cheap for another. R2 is not going to be cheap for our household, but I'm gambling that it'll be "good". However, I also realize that isn't exactly a guarantee...

IMO, the problem isn't that there was a problem with parking brake. Things break, whether it's a Lexus or Rivian - different failure rates of course. The problem is that a problem with parking brake is enough to disable the vehicle. Imagine being stuck hundreds or thousands of miles in middle of nowhere because the parking brake has a problem. Ice can have the exact failure and it will not strand me. This is not an isolated incident.

A small fender bender that shorts a parking sensor is enough to put Rivian in limp mode. If the hood is open(sensor issue) it will out me in limp mode. This is taking the nannies to a different level.
