NEW: Knocked out of the Android app

Having a key card in my wallet is a good idea. But this issue I encountered yesterday would not have been resolved with physical card in hand. I had multi-factor DRIVE enabled which requires me to be signed into my mobile app. Since i was unable to get verified I was unable to authorize my drive.

Wow did not think of that as an added issue!

That's the number one reason I won't turn it on and have advocated to Rivian to enable PIN to drive. Nearly the same benefits from a security aspect, but none of the infrastructure tie in requirements.

It let me connect once, but only let me see the marketing side of the app. I will try back later tonight.

Sure, it's more secure, but not substantially so and only against specific attacks. The predominant threat these two security measures work to counteract is replay attacks against which they are equally effective.

I'm locked out of the Rivian account completely today. Cant configure a phone because a can't log in on the phone. Wouldn't send 2fa codes to my email. Eventually after trying numerous times I'm completely locked out of what I thought was my car. Called Rivian and they can't fix it either and can't send me emails. My email works perfectly. What a crap app and system.

I want a f'king metal key.

I highly recommend everyone add a telephone number in the app for 2FA using SMS. Their system refused to send a verification code via email. I used an old broken phone that was still logged into the app and was able to add a phone number and make it the default method.
