My hope is to show Rivian that the folks that were the early supporters should all be treated fairly. I reserved on 12/15/2018 and had a March/April delivery estimate. I did not escape the price increase.

November 2018, Blue R1T with Black Mountain interior, Seattle, first guide contact in May with a November 2021 estimate. Got assigned into the March-April window in the last big update. Got our guide contact letting us know we were scheduled for production just yesterday. We got the good news email today, such as it is.

And to dress up the case you're trying to make, even though they're honoring our pricing, I still think the way they handled this undermines their ethos and their credibility.

The craziest part about this whole debacle is Rivian is locking in pricing for reservation holders that reserved their vehicles well after the launch date. I already know of a few members on this forum that got prices locked in and their reservation # is significantly higher than mine. That's pretty messed up.

This is where I have a problem with the way they are doing business. If they are locking in a price for a customer who committed to a preorder after my date, but because my production window was Apr/May...I get to pay a higher price ?

Agreed. The *less* crappy thing to do would have been to say you can lock in now and your deposit goes hard plus maybe an extra deposit to preserve pricing for reservation holders before x date.
