Were you able to get this resolved? I had the same issue all day until about 9pm last night when I actually got the official Rivian email saying it was time to complete purchase. When I clicked through the link in the email, it brought me right back to the documents section on the delivery process and it all worked perfectly from that point. I could also schedule delivery at that point also. Not sure if that email link was the key needed to open the door or just timing coincidence.

I do feel your pain though, but excited for your delivery as well. When you do get through, looked like there were a few Monday delivery time slots still available.

We are all so happy for you. See? All the people here that would say we are angry that we weren't receiving our trucks first back in the fall should come here and see the joy when an ACTUAL delivery is happening.

We all saw the supposed deliveries that were going to employees and were just annoyed.

Certainly from my perspective they are. I was told 4 weeks for delivery on Monday and truck will be in driveway a week later.

Congratulations on your delivery! with such a quick turnaround I was wondering if you received your wall charger if you had ordered one?
I stopped by delivery center (I was so excited to see if my truck was there, of course.). Talked to manager of deliveries and asked about that. The chargers are not coming with the trucks at delivery or before delivery. He said that it will be shipped to my house directly from Rivian in a couple of weeks. Not good news on that topic.

You really want to know what sort of damage is repaired before delivering a car without the customer ever knowing?

it can be as extensive as “transport truck crushed the roof skin with a ramp so it was replaced At port.“

my car had the whole front end resprayed and the windshield replaced because there was a wind storm that blasted a bunch of cars with sand and gravel. cannot tell.

I would not let the Service Center people do any paint correction/protection work. It is highly unlikely that they have hired people with experience in this. When visiting my local service center I was able to closely look at the managers Rivian Blue R1T. The paint had a ton of orange peel as well as a ton of swirl marks. I'm pretty sure I will have to do a bunch of work to the paint once I get my truck.
The idea that a car company couldn’t possibly hire people who know how to fix paint issues from transport is laughable and condescending.

and speaking of orange peel, go look at any German car made since the switch to waterborne paints. Then ask a body shop about having to match orange peel ?

I have a March/April delivery estimate. No guide contact ever- I don’t have a guide as far as I know. Rivian has never contacted me personally- just via the mass emails we all receive. Do I need to be logging into my rivian acct often to see if my delivery process has been activated? Is that the way I will find out that my truck is ready??
No. You should definitely be told that the process has started by your Guide. After that, sure, check regularly but you should also get an email within a few hours of the purchase process opening.

I am well aware of Orange Peel on German cars and the prep at port. The paint on my 2010 M5 was fairly decent and required very little paint correction. My 2016 M5 was awful and required a ton of work. When I picked up my 2019 M5 at the BMW Welt in Munich the paint was flawless. I imagine that the quality of paint has some variation but I also think that the prep that was done to my 2019 M5 was probably a much higher caliber than that of the local BMW dealer. The only reference of Rivian's ability is what I saw at the Service Center in Richmond VA. I'm not sure these guys even have an idea of how to wash a car with separate buckets.
I recently purchased what might be my last BMW. A pre-owned 2018 M2 with 11,000 miles on it. The paint on this car is in much better shape than what I saw on this particular R1T. Just an observation.

Correct, By outside Detail companies who specialize in paint correction and PPF. The one that I saw was on a white truck. Paint imperfections are much easier to see on colors like Rivian Blue.

I am fairly confident I saw one that wasn't done on a white truck, but I can't be bothered to search myself.
