Well, I backed up my R1T into a light post in the middle of a parking lot two years ago and the total cost for the insurance pay out was $21K - $16K to fix the truck and $5K for the light post. That was the Forest Green R1T in my signature.

Vehicle are not cheap to fix anymore. There was a car in the lot where mine was fixed, back end was totally caved in. The car had temp tags, adjuster said less than 3000 miles. She estimated in would cost close to $20k to fix it.

I add a Thinkware backup camera to my vehicles. I have had two incidents where the video saved my butt and someone else who got sideswiped. I don't always trust Gary.

The driver said she had just been in a hit/run and it messed up her back up sensors. I would think a camera would have been ok.

She should have either had that fixed or looked behind her, like most people do. These are careless accidents. Yes, insurance will pay for the repairs but what about your time and inconvenience?

Friend started with one body shop a few years ago. He owns five now. He told me that he would prefer fewer accidents than more business.

Definitely inconvenient. The closest RIvian certified repair center is over an hour away. I will say they did a great job of lighting a fire under the insurance company. Got me a rental while I was there and didn't have to make an extra trip.

I wish I had your grace and patience. The worst thing, after safety, I dread in an accident is the unnecessary loss of my time. Life is very hard when you're trying to increase your Oura sleep score. Cheers.

Thanks. I will say the truck was like a rock. I realize we were sitting still and it was a low speed accident, but we did not move. Good luck with the sleep score.
