Any "March-April" delivery people contacted?

Curious - do any of you Tesla old-timers remember how it was handled with the initial release of the Model S?

I'm related to a Tesla old-timer (and not a true Roadster old-timer, but Model S old-timer), but I don't think the use case is going to be that helpful. Tesla's first store in Palo Alto allowed people to schedule test drives pretty much at-will starting in Summer 2012 (deliveries hadn't really quite started yet). Since we lived about 15min away, we just went down and test drove at the store itself.

Not sure how it worked for people not near a Tesla store (which I assume is what you're really curious about...).

I took the Tesla Roadster for a spin a few times back in 2008 when I had one on order. The Tesla store in Menlo Park was 2 minutes from my house. Good times.

Good call out that it was actually in Menlo Park and not PA...I always forget the line is right there. What was it before Tesla--Chevy or Ford? I can't remember....

I just looked at the Google Streetview of that site now. Crazy how much it has changed. My current office is less than a mile away from there but haven't been up in 2+ years now.

Just checked my rivian account. And it seems I have a guide assigned to me! On the top right there is a question mark, I clicked it and it gave me my guides name, cell number and email! Does anyone else have this yet? 12/8/2018 preorder

It has been, but for is mere mortals it’s just a info about customer service chat, email, etc.

Not mine but same color (Electric Blue) as the one I had ordered. I ended up switching my reservation to a Model S in 2009. Finally got it in 2012 in custom blue. Now waiting for my Rivian Blue R1S...

Yes it's always been there, but first time it shows a guide. Must have been assigned recently.
