R1S delay buried during earnings call?

With all the lack of info on R1S and Mar/April windows here and crickets, who wants to bet a R1S delay gets slid/buried into the earnings call behind all the XXX number of R1Ts delivered this quarter (this week…)?

I’m betting it gets hidden in noise of R1T and March 1 debacle but they have got to admit it soon and I don’t see it happening on its own where it will be spotlighted….

I have been very nervous about this for at least 6 weeks. If they announce R1S is delayed 6 months or more you’ll be able to get RIVN stock for $20 I bet.

I’m not going to say it won’t or can’t happen but in the delivery poll on this forum there was only 12 people that said they had a March/April schedule for R1S. The larger windows were June/July at 63 and July/September at 78

I thought I had seen one person with an R1S with a guide contact but do not recall the thread. If I find it I will update this post.

CS chat says to have seen the R1S coming off the line. We’ve seen a few in the Rivian lot via drone.

I’m cautiously optimistic we will see some R1S deliveries in the March/April window.

They are building them & I expect to see some March-April deliveries. I know one of these in proximity to the factory, and my R1S window is April-May.

I think we will see a few more R1S guide calls in the next month or so. The focus is clearly R1T.

yeah I too have been quoted that by CS but I think it’s just a planned line.

my biggest indicator of problems is lack of info on it and/or Stories episode on it…like R1T and especially approaching an earnings call, if they were good, they’d be show/telling us and pumping up the good volume and vibes. Lack of that positive comms I think speaks loudly.

now, don’t get me wrong as a shareholder and R1S preorder, I want them to succeed but I’m starting to read the tea leaves….

You could very well be right. But it could also be in true Rivian form to drip campaign good news on the R1T’s first, then start to release R1S info once the end user media campaign has resolved.

To be fair it was a brilliant idea unless you are in pandemic mode where collaborative office spaces are the exact opposite of what you need. Maybe in the future...

I don't see it getting a significant delay. The R1S should be easier to build than the R1T, and we've seen them roll at least a few of them off the line from the drone shots. They just can't have the employee priority program in place...

It seems like Rivian is rolling pretty strong on R1T output right now. Might make sense to keep that momentum up at the moment and stir up a lot of interest from the public.
Or maybe they are working on squeezing a few more cells into the R1S to get the range up to 350 miles, since the 5 seater config is no longer.

We got tons of hype for the R1T and it wasn't available at the time - which is just me saying the availability of information is clearly not an indication that the vehicle is ready to ship Also, the R1S might be the bright spot on Thursday (meaning they might be saving info on shipping R1S for the earnings call to have something positive to say).

I do tend to believe by this time next week the R1S picture will be clearer one way or the other.
