VW will reveal ID.Buzz - March 9th

If the unveiling of the minibus version is only for the 5 seat variant (and not a 6-7 seat) it's a hard pass for me no matter the price. My family needs more seats, hence the 7 seat R1S reservation.

I assume this is just to get the ball rolling and EVENTUALLY a 6/7 seater will appear at some point in the future?

Edit: could be this is just for the European market?

while not loving the outside as the concept was perfect, at least it looks like you can sleep in it (a requirement for any VW camper)...

Agree about the two tone paint....if I can get one in an orange body with a white top I will literally break my mouse putting in that preorder.

For you and @Sgt Beavis, I read that they were planning to offer it with 4 single-color paint options, and 2 two-tone options.

Haha. Agree. I haven’t been able to find it. I was able to preorder the Ford Lightning 10 minutes before the presentation.

I understand why people don't like the front end as much as the original concept but I really like what they did with the back end. I do wonder if that's the short wheelbase version. My biggest takeway is that it is shorter than the Model S and also more narrow.

All the mules out there now are for the European version, which yes, is a shorter wheelbase. They're getting a 5-passenger version, and a cargo setup. The US version can also be had as a 7-seater, due to the longer wheelbase.

So I'm just now looking at those sneak peak pictures, and just noticing a few things I'm interested or intrigued in.

In the picture posted above, you can see the flat rear loading floor. But when you see in from the side, it's clear that there's some sort of storage underneath the flat panel just behind the second row. You can just barely see what looks to be a coil of rope underneath it. So a curious setup to me, I wonder why they need 2 false floors back there?

Also, I'm in love with the pedals.

Finally, I can't help but feel like the whole vehicle feels narrower than it needs to be. Is that just me, or am I crazy?

Is there any confirmation that preorders will open today? I've seen a lot of articles about the official unveiling but I haven't seen a single reference to actually opening preorders today. Certainly I'm prepared to but I don't have any indication so far that it's going to start today.

I was just assuming but looking at what I have seen I would not be surprised if reservations don't open up today and it is just the unveiling.
