So it "works". Great!
What about the sound inside and outside of the cabin?
How is the vibration in the steering wheel or pedals?
My Gen1 R1S has a jet engine for the AC.
Minivan with the highest ground clearance is 6.9" (Sienna), only two with AWD (Sienna and certain Pacifica trims), and most offer around 3500 for towing.
While very few families that need more than 5 seats are actually off roading, many absolutely value the above features especially for their...
Good to hear that sport "fixed" it for you, as I suspected it might. I kept in AP because I was most interested in efficiency and it was very significant for my case.
I could probably get used to the AP feel on the Gen2, it was just surprising how different it was.
Ride quality is different...
I should've taken a photo, but it got hit by a rock on the highway in the bottom left corner and the point of impact caused a very large bullseye and by the time my wife got home it went the entire way across the driver view up to the rearview mirror.
Strongly recommend getting it...
Hold up. I can just drive up to a supercharger, hook up my adapter, plug it into my Rivian and it should start charging?
I've always used the Tesla app to initiate charge, have I been missing this feature and is there anything special I need to do in order to use it?
If you have driven both and are comparing, please indicate whether you are comparing a Gen1 or Gen2 R1. I noticed the Gen2 required a lot more force than my Gen1.
Personally I love 1-pedal and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Reclining seat ≠ adjustable headrest
The post you quoted said "adjustable recline" on rear seats and you then state the front does not either which is 100% incorrect.
Simply correcting the bad information, though you are correct that the front headrests are not adjustable.
Price absolutely matters for a lot of buyers, although many of those people probably aren't on this forum. That said, I'm not convinced $45k is low enough to reach that broader market anyways.
I've had several friends who had zero interest in EVs suddenly get excited about the Slate lineup...
Maybe your mind is still stuck on the headrest, but the front (IE driver and shotgun seat) absolutely can adjust the recline. Not sure I've seen a vehicle built in the last 50 years that wasn't adjustable.
This is the type of content I am here for, well done!
Excited to see the efficiency numbers coming in where they are at, appreciate all the effort you put in to this!
Just crossed 60k miles on our 2022 Launch Edition R1S. After reading a post from @RickRossTheBoss, I decided to spend the $250 on the comprehensive inspection before the warranty expired. I scheduled it with about 100 miles left on the 60k warranty, and it definitely paid off.
Covered under...
While I personally agree, the average consumer is unfortunately absolutely unaware so the comparison does remain.
My cousin has had Subaru's for decades. Now interested in electric and I told her about the R2, but it came down to the Subaru brand being known to her and Rivian is not.
Around here, "off road" is more about handling winter conditions, backroads riddled with potholes, washed out lanes, reaching crop fields without direct access, etc. Very few people actually "off road" but the AWD and extra clearance are very valuable.
Both my R1S (very rare) and Hyundai Ioniq 9 (50%+) will try to close the door in the middle of charging so I'll have to move the door with a bit of force in order to unplug. This always feels bad to do, especially on the flimsy Ioniq door.
Then there are the times they don't want to close or...
