Finally, my moment has come!

This was originally retconned in the Jedi Academy book trilogy in the 90s (and somewhat re-retconned in the Solo movie). In the books, Kessel is a spice mining planet located in the center of a cluster of black holes (the Maw Cluster) which is extraordinarily precarious because hyperdrives don't behave well around gravity wells, and like to eat ships.

There are mapped "safe routes," but they're circuitous and actively patrolled - bad for, say, spice smugglers. The infamous "kessel run" is smuggling spice out of the Maw Cluster - Han's/the Falcon's record is notable because it's the shortest known route, which is both a feat of navigational prowess and ship/hyperdrive performance. It's sort of like saying you made it out of a corn maze in the fewest steps. Or got your Wordle in the fewest guesses. Not necessarily a proxy for "faster," but a fun retcon.

Anyway, I was very cool in school and got laid a lot.

And to think I almost glossed over this post! I had no idea. I love details like this. My 2 daughters are obsessed with all things Marvel. They are constantly deep diving me on things like this that I had no clue about, but totally add to the enjoyment fo the movies. Your post is appreciated!

Yeah - I have measured, and confident it will fit - was just curious for those parking in a single garage how practical it is. I have a 3 car garage and my Raptor takes up two of those spaces. I made a deal with my wife that she can have the double side back when I get the R1T. Just wondering how miserable that will be.

The widths are where I'm wondering if I'll need to flip the mirrors in just a bit - sometimes that wiggle room seems awfully tight for my F150 in the single garage. But mine is 22 or 23 deep, so plenty of front room there.

Same here - I can actually get my Raptor in on the single side of the garage, but there is ZERO wiggle room with mirrors folded in. Literally 1/2 inch on either side. The Rivian is about 5-6 inches narrower, so should be good - just no more rolling carelessly into the garage. First world problems!

I recall another thread where this was discussed - the raptor with mirrors folded/not included is wider than the R1T with mirrors extended.

combine that with the turning radius probably being tighter and it will be much easier to fit in more places.

I like thst the R1T is exactly the length of a standard parking space, too

Looks like an updated Rivian app in the Apple store today. I see a charging map. Maybe some of the new owners can let us know if any of the car interface options has changed.

Tesla Model S owner here, launch edition reservation holder supposedly getting my R1T April/May timeframe based on the e-mail from several months ago.

The Tesla nav system is not the best. You can't put in intermediate stops nor does it seem to recalculate the route for supercharger stops if your energy use is better/worse than anticipated. System seems to figure a route and then that's the route you use unless you cancel the route and have it recalculate.

Is the Rivian nav system any better? Can you put in intermediate stops? Does it dynamically calculate charging stops if you're energy use is better/worse than anticipated?

I downloaded the newest Android app and it has a map with chargers and a link to your preorder config and look now to customer service. I do not have an R1T yet.

For @Mark_AZR1T @805Badger @kylealden @ajbrutman @bael @RivChris @ssiminou @Lsthrz and anyone else who has signed PBA, what does 8-step program look like? Do you get an email, is there anything in the app, a special logo in your web account? Surely I can't be the only one franticly checking the app and account hourly looking for something new.

I'm simultaneously nervous about them trying to deliver while I'm out of town, but also antsy to move on to the next step. S00000n!

Tesla recently added the ability to put in intermediate stops.
