Well I guess its really happening! Filled out all my docs and got a VIN today! Granted their trade in value was about 5-6k below carmax and carvana.

Logged in this AM and my configuration is locked.

No guide assigned, but CS says that I should have one s00n and that changes WOULD impact my delivery. Seems like I've moved to the next step in the process...

Wow- great news. I'm in HHI so hopefully I'm in the same boat!

I’m on Rivian’s 8 step plan…ahead of schedule weirdly. ?‍

I'd say at this point we are prob looking at Atlanta for take-in service. I'd expect eventually something to show up in Savannah or Charlotte, just like Tesla did.

Current state law basically makes it impossible for them to set up anything in the state. We are in the Charleston Tesla Club and have a little insight from the legislators who are trying to get a bill passed to improve it. At this time it doesn't have the support to be taken up, so we are just going to have to live with it.

If Volvo continues to embrace to online-built-to-order sales model they are using with Polestar, we might finally have someone big enough push to change the rules, but I haven't heard anything about it so far.

Something weird…my vin is in the 1500 range and that guy John from the chosen 10 has same config and his is 2500. ?

Yah. I figured ATL was closest at this point with nothing closer on the horizon. I also have an address in Massachusetts and have driven by the SC location, and there's little progress there...

Supposedly Rivian also made a note on my order that I'd accept delivery at either location but I'm glad to hear the dealership troubles in SC aren't holding up LE deliveries. Thanks...

Not surprising. They aren't building trucks to order but are rather matching you to an already built truck. VINs are likely pulled in batches of like-configured vehicles (but not necessarily built in that order), and your configuration happens to be in a lower range than his.

Don't forget that LOCATION is also a major factor. Cars are going out significantly faster to folks on the West Coast while the South East is a ghost town.

I have a feeling that location plays a significant role. I'm in Michigan, where Rivian was headquartered for like a minute, and I haven't heard of anyone taking delivery from the state. I also don't have Black Mountain, which is looking like the only color interior that Rivian is delivering. Fingers crossed that I can still take delivery in the April/May timeframe.
