Ya', I'm definitely going to want to see this addressed before I take any delivery! I'm blown away by how unconcerned the reviewer is when it happens...... I would have been freaking out like "WTF"?....

Jeezzz...... That's pretty significant in my book. I don't think it's my imagination, he's slightly visibly jostled when you hear that? Seems like it might happen once per revolution of a half shaft/CV joint? My concern is that thngs like that almost never get better, they only get worse.

This is one to watch for a few months. If I had taken delivery of this vehicle, I would have reported this immediately to Rivian.

When connected via Bluetooth to the vehicle, does the vehicle support the LDAC codec for higher bitrate transfer?

How do I find out you ask?

If connected through Bluetooth via Samsung or Sony Android handsets, navigate to your Bluetooth settings and then the rivians connection. Select the gear icon and see if it's an option.

I ask since the vehicle doesn't yet support a direct USB connection to play audio files or streaming, it would be nice to know I can get some higher quality Tidal, near lossless music on the meridian system. And yes, it's noticeable compared to Spotify's highest bitrate with compatible hardware ?

Could you try an experiment to see if the noise changes?
1) Adjust the suspension height, which changes the halfshaft/cv joint angle.
2) Switch to/from conserve mode, which powers 2 vs 4 motors/wheels and it cycles the magnetic clutches.

Now I can't recreate at normal driving speeds. Tried 1 and 2. Only get noises going over bumps. But that's normal... Right?

I pulled mine off the charger last night around 8pm at 70%, still at 70% this morning as of 8:20. Gear Guard is on sitting in my driveway.

Mine came off around 8pm too at 70%, gear guard on in garage at "home" and on WiFi. It was 70% at 730pm when I took it out to test joints and "knocking."

Yeah, you would expect some "normal" suspension noise going over bumps. Definitely no rhythmic sound in your videos. ?

The noise of the Rivian is the legit sound to the motor I believe which is awesome.

On the other hand in the EV6 they muffle the motor sound and broadcast ‘fake’ sounds you can change. Some of them actually sound like you’re driving the Jetson’s car, this is less awesome IMO.

The noise of the Rivian is the legit sound to the motor I believe which is awesome.

On the other hand in the EV6 they muffle the motor sound and broadcast ‘fake’ sounds you can change. Some of them actually sound like you’re driving the Jetson’s car, this is less awesome IMO.

For sure, I'm not a fan of the trend to pump "engine sounds" into the cab. Makes it feel cheap.
With 4 motors though... Let those beauties sing!

I watched all the live streams etc (stepped away occasionally) and yeah, It was hard not to get caught up in his excitement during the road test review about the driving dynamics and... The buildup from the Bosch brothers, and lest we forget, the Pirelli sisters on the corners ?

@OutofSpecKyle Any chance you can check with Rivian as to whether this issue was present on the vehicle they lent you? It seems a perfect explanation for the noise you heard and I'm sure would give us all peace of mind that it won't be present for current/future deliveries.
