I saw a few posts (can't remember which threads now of course) where some people said they were contacted for a factory pickup on March 31 (specifically).

I am wondering if anyone knows more about this....and more specifically...any of of those invited waiting on an R1S?

It would be a pretty cool for them to hold a end-of-quarter factory event and also use it to delivery the first R1Ss (wishful thinking...)

Also possible the silence on this is due to an NDA for those attending the event.

I was invited to pick up my R1T tomorrow at the factory. No NDA, and still waiting on the preliminary buyers agreement. Today is the day for them to line it all up before tomorrow's drive from Chicago. My guide made it sound like there might be something special going on, but that something special might just be a quarter end push for deliveries.

Hopefully they get the PBA to you today then so you can get it tomorrow. Still hoping for some R1S news... deliveries...manual....blog posts... anything ?

I asked to pick mine up from the factory but the truck was already local. Assuming it was someone else's that decided not to purchase.

They are just doing this to get as many cars delivered in Q1 as possible.
Frankly they should be doing this more as they could get vehicles in to peoples hands quicker and with less cost to RIVN.

Yes I wonder if they will do this monthly or at the very least the end of each quarter. As production ramps up and vehicles are built to specific orders it will hopefully become a formal delivery option (with more than four days notice!)

I expect more R1S news next week when they start in April making R1Ss and colored interiors for the R1T.

So as an update. I was SUPPOSED to go to NORMAL tomorrow. My guide, just now, 2 hours before I was set to leave, told me the DO NOT have my configuration and tried to offer me something completely different (Silver w/21 in wheels). Anyone else with a similar experience. She said I'm still on track for me April-May timeframe. But UGH what a sour taste now.

You factory pickup guys should take a sharpie and have RJ sign beneath the hood or somewhere else, kinda like the Shelby.

That is really disappointing but not surprising. I would be pretty upset if the plug was pulled that close to making a trip that far.

There was hardly any trucks outside when I went by yesterday. I did pass 3 LG (I think) on a truck that had just left the factory.

Same here. They won't have my truck ready tomorrow. They didn't even offer me another config.

Thanks for the empathy all.
I certainly recognize many would have loved to have been offered the silver one. I just feel like I'm already so close, why compromise.
The most disappointing thing is I was going to take my 8 year old out of school to take him over there. He was so excited.
This experience did teach me that I don't think they give the guides too much info. My guide was "near certain," they'd have my config on monday when I talked to her.

Like other's have pointed out, clearly they are trying to get every built truck into driveways before quarter end, which is great. But just don't pull me around like that.

I did want to update everyone that my guide reached out at the end of the day and offered a very sincere apology about how everything went down. I very much appreciated it. Now back to waiting!
