This isn't happening. Everything being delivered is a Launch Edition today. They are ignoring reservation date, but everyone who's gotten a truck has had an LE reservation.
Not entirely true. I saw a post recently that a May 2021 order is starting to finalize their order now. It hasn't been delivered but it definitely isn't a LE.

I saw someone post here that they had a guide contact, but they hadn't actually spoken with their guide.

Beyond that - by definition - if it hasn't been delivered then my statement is actually "entirely true". It may be untrue in the near future, but today it's true.

Correct, that sounds like the same thing I saw on Reddit. Yes not delivered but looks to be finalizing non-LEs already.

I'm very interested to see what those calls turn out to be.

Regardless, the fact that folks who reserved in 2021 are getting guide contacts at all is pretty messed up as well (not as messed up as OP's situation though)

Their guide was removed from the account.

I'm sure they just went in build order with what they had at the local service center and got down Adventure orders.

Kinda makes you wonder what happens if they overproduce vehicles with the LE badging. Will they replace badging and ship to adventure orders? Or will they offer adventure orders the LE editions.

This is the internet, we can’t really trust everything we read. Although I guess this could be Bigfoot….

I have wondered that same thing. What happens if they ship 10 trucks to a locale and only have 9 takers.

Do they put it back on a truck and ship it to the next closest locale w/ an order?

Do they rebadge it?

Do they offer it to an adventure holder?

Maybe some (or all?) get turned into service loaners. Not sure how badly they would over produce them but if it’s only a couple of hundred I’d imagine they would have an internal use for them.

Otherwise, I’m sure any Adventure trim customers would LOVE to do Rivian a favor and take a Launch Edition instead.

Yeah, that one is absolutely absurd. There are a shit ton of LE orders in Seattle plenty whondont have a guide, and I have an adventure trim R1T well before their order. Rivian needs to figure out how to sort by date once they get to service centers
Edit: to clarify I'm excited for him. It's just confusing/frustrating. At least we aren't @cohall. I'd flip.

I’ve decided that I’m definitely getting punk’d by Rivian.

My neighbor just got their R1T delivered today. Literally exact same specs as my configuration, Same color, same interior, same options. They posted lots of happy photos of taking delivery.
Did you make any changes just before or any time after the delivery estimate emails came out? Beyond that, who knows what's going on or how such things happen. It actually happened to me with my Model Y. But with my parents. They really liked my Model X and were interested in the smaller Y. I helped my mom order a Y and she picked white on white and all the same everything I did, ordered about 2 weeks after I did. And this was way, way back. in the beginning. They took delivery almost a month before me. Weird, but whatever. My car was perfect, they had to have their rear hatch re-aligned and two door seals replaced that were badly installed. So, haha, jokes on them I guess. Tesla didn't know what was what, blamed everything on COVID shutdowns. My Y with the lower VIN was produced in May '20, theirs in June, both right after the factory came back online. Just their's was delivered first.

Really though, call Rivian CS and put them on the spot about it. See what they say. They probably have no clue. For now, I'll drink a beer in honor of your pity party and I hope you get your truck soon. Hopefully there's one sitting at the Denver SC that they can match you with.

I ordered about the same time as you, but I went Max Pack instead of LE... I'm being told 2nd half of '23. Ugh.

They accidentally shipped my LE truck to California last week and I am now back in the que … I guess we will find out.

Trim level is coded into the VIN. It would be impossible to turn a LE into an Adventure.

I'll give a call to CS in the morning and see if I can get anywhere.

Tonight I'm going to throw myself a pity party.
For what it's worth, I've read a lot of silly complaints on these forums over the last few months - yours is not that. I would be pissed too. I think it's definitely worth a phone call tomorrow. Something isn't right.
