I just spoke to a very nice woman at CS who understood my concerns and said she'd look into what's going on for me. We shall see.
And the response was nothing more than a canned "We understand waiting is hard, keep an eye on your email and your guide will reach out when it's your turn"

Cool. :(

I’ve decided that I’m definitely getting punk’d by Rivian.

My neighbor just got their R1T delivered today. Literally exact same specs as my configuration, Same color, same interior, same options. They posted lots of happy photos of taking delivery.

My neighbor ordered over 10 months after I did.

I’m losing my faith.
Brother, you have every right to be disappointed and upset. I can only imagine how I'd feel.

It's wrong and it's a mistake by Rivian. Yes, they're ramping up for their very first real production run. Mistakes are going to occur. That doesn't make it right or okay or something to be ignored. But don't just be angry; do something constructive about it.

You could of course cancel your order and get back your $1,000. That may provide some immediate and visceral satisfaction. And then you'll end of hanging onto that anger as you begin to see more Rivians on the road.

My advice is that you phone CS; I love CS but email to them can feel like a black hole. Tell them what happened and that you need an immediate explanation and delivery of your configuration ASAP. If you don't get satisfaction from CS, tell them you want the name and number of someone with the authority to fix this. Keep going up the chain of command until you achieve satisfaction.

Don't sound outraged when doing this. That puts people on a defensive lockdown mode. Just be firm and steadfast in telling each level you have to work through that this was a mistake which they must promptly correct, and now.

Remember your objective is to get the vehicle.

I wouldn't say this if I didn't believe you'll be successful. It'll be worth it in the end.

Best of luck and let us all know how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback, and support. Appreciate it.

I've chatted. I've emailed. I've called. Unfortunately nothing I do or say seems to get across that the issue is not me being impatient, but rather there's clearly an issue with my order, proven out by numerous examples of my identical vehicle being delivered to others in my immediate vicinity who ordered long after me.

Unfortunately, I've given up for now. If I hear something in the next week or two, I'll be happy. Otherwise, I'll likely move on to another vehicle. Simply can't go much longer without a car.

If you can I would go park yourself at the service center until you can get someone to talk to you.

It is a shame you haven’t been contacted yet, but sometimes you have to be patient. Yea some people have taken delivery before you but tens of thousands are still waiting. Actually waiting a couple of months later may be best to help them solve these initial issues they are having with panel alignment etc.

Good points, I share in the frustration. Absolutely. I try (not so successfully) to factor in there will be a similar level of startup problems with shipping/delivering/servicing vehicles, as there are with design, sourcing, producing. ~49,000 preorders listed in the S-1, about the same time Rivian set the delivery windows. Rivian hasn't delivered even 10% of those yet, likely 3,000-3,500 deliveries in total, including a significant number of employee deliveries (1000?).

Limited communication, delivery of non LE trims before LE, non transparent delivery selection, ill informed customer service, providing only select customers a chance to expedite delivery will continue to frustrate. Hope Rivian is working on this also, beyond the technical/mfg/supply chain issues, with urgency.

Fingers crossed that they will really bring focus and a sense of urgency to keeping delivery window estimates and not push timing back again.

I feel your pain cohal and I pre-ordered in 2018 and don't even have a delivery date, much less a truck. That's why I decided to break up with my hot truck GF named Rivian.

Hang in there @cohall. I just called about the guide assignment and was told that one should be assigned in the next two weeks - guides are ramping up for trucks to be delivered in May. In the same boat with being without a car (1+ year since the initial delay). Being a very early pre-order holder, the wait is definitely testing my patience but, as someone else noted, maybe some of the early bugs will have been iteratively worked out by the time my truck is ready.

I was informed also by my Guide that a lot of people in your position should get a guide assigned within the next two weeks.
