Pros and cons of using 12V vs 120?
12V is theoretically more efficient (no DC/AC/DC conversion, which has two sets of efficiency losses between your pack and your fridge). The 12V ports are also always powered, whereas you have to manually turn on the 120 outlets from the truck's touchscreen. So 12V is probably the best route (and there's 12V in both the frunk and the gear tunnel).

That sed, there's no 12V in the bed, and the drawbacks to 120 are probably mostly annoying rather than a big power issue given the relatively low draw we're talking about here. So if you want it in the bed, don't sweat it.

Hey all,

Amazon delivered my ICECO GO20 Dual Zone cooler this morning. Thought I would post some photos.

It’s not the largest cooler/refrigerator/freezer but it fits in the gear tunnel or the front trunk. Will add more details as I try it out.

Thanks for proving the GO20 fits. I assume there's no way anything larger will fit (and there woudl be room for two in gear tunnel?
ICECO is a top shelf product. The SECOP (Danfoss) compressor is its not-so-secret to high efficiency and ability to go to a zero degree freeze. I've had a larger model JP42 (42 litre, 40 qt) for a couple of years and it is a game changer for road trips.

I'd say a fridge in the frunk is better all round for convenience. I think heat will be an issue.
In my F-150, I have a 40qt fridge running 24x7 off a battery power station and heat ventilation is an issue, so I will leave it off for an hour or two (insulation keeps every 100% frozen) then cycle on the freezer when the bed is open. Depending upon how hard core we go with the R1T, I'll order another frunk liner and drill a grill of vent holes to line up with the output of the fridge compressor.

Yeah you kind have to tilt it a bit to get it through The gear tunnel door so I don’t think bigger is an option. At ~22” wide I think you could easily slide 2 into the gear tunnel which is well over 50” wide even on the floor of the gear tunnel.

So the biggest concern now would be that the R1T manual says not to leave powered stuff running in the gear tunnel.

Good thing you can tilt it up to 40 degrees

Out of curiosity, could you fit two side-by-side in the frunk?

I think so, probably a couple inches of wiggle room.

So it looks like from the "fake" bottom to the top of the lip of the frunk is about 10" and the cooler is 12.4 or 12.6" (according to Amazon), so it looks like there is a bit of room in the hood to allow the extra 2" or so?

Thanks! Awfully bulky relative to the cooling capacity but it would give much more capacity for an extended camping trip. Ventilation probably is a real issue with two compressors in there though. ?

I measure 10.5" in the front from the false floor to the gasket and over 13" in the rear from the false floor to the gasket. Also yes there is some room in the lid (a couple inches).

the gear tunnel opening is a questionable design – they really needed to recess the latch mechanism and square off the whole tunnel. I sort of which "stealth mode" design studios would show more confidence in their own capacity to execute and do end user study ("focus group") sessions – comparing a roll down rear window, a gear tunnel or a mid-gate, I have to imagine they'd get 50%+ asking for the mid-gate and more preferring the window to the tunnel (then again, "both" is surely an option.
One interesting thing would be if the fridge could be in the middle and open at the port to the rear seats – accessing a cold one while sleeping overnight in the cabin would be pure luxury. : )

Probably not as many as you'd think. Only reason I'm going with the truck is because of the frunk and gear tunnel, otherwise I'd be team R1S instead. But I want the max pack and a full size spare. Coming from an SUV, the secure storage space is important.
