Have seen a few threads with missing undercarriage hardware.
Haven’t done a full undercarriage check, but did go under the front end today.
noticed a price hanging down. Checked driver and passenger side.
Looks like homes for screws or bolts (2x) - neither side has them. Drivers side wasn’t “in place”

It was easy enough to pop back in place - do any of you other owners have hardware holding those in?

Didn't Rivian make a big deal about how they were using a fastener/torque tracking system during assembly? Basically computer controlled electric torque wrenches that ensured all fasteners were a) installed and b) torqued to the appropriate value. Allegedly a record was created in a database for each fastener installed and they could audit, by VIN, that all fasteners were installed and torqued properly. I know other auto manufacturers DO use this technology. If Rivian is, as well, why are so many vehicles making it into customer hands missing fasteners? And if they're not, why not?

As fhe saying goes during ISO 9001 audits, “we make garbage, but at least it’s very well documented garbage”.

Torqued to spec doesn’t mean the spec is the right one ?

While the truck was at the service center, I asked them about this and they put bolts in.
Of note: right in front of the tiny mud flaps for the rear wheels is a screw. Noticed it hanging down when they towed me. That felt like a great way to end up with a screw in a rear wheel.
that was also replaced, tightened, etc.
may be worth doing undercarriage checks

I have 4 missing plastic wheel well fasteners noted on delivery. The delivery specialist didn't seem concerned and didn't make note of it. Waiting on response from my Guide. How important to replace these? Just uncertain. Do they snap in place or screw in? Anybody have missing ones

Is that your passenger rear wheel well? If so, those are metal BOLTS and not plastic rivets, and I would definitely be concerned about them. My driver front wheel well wouldn't retain plastic rivets, holes were too big, so they replaced both front wheel wells.

I had two missing from mine on delivery day. Noted it, but still hasn't been in for service to get fixed. Surprised this is a widespread problem. Wasn't concerned if it was just my truck, but seems like a few of you have had this issue.

My driver side wheelwell has had 2 metal screws (10 and 12 o'clock positions if looking at the wheel). Noticed one delivery day, the other in the last day or two. Will keep monitoring.

Spoke to service and sent photos. Only wheel well not affected was rear passenger, others had missing bolts and/or plastic fasteners. Told would just be a mobile visit fix. Sounds real good to me! Will wait for an appointment.

I just went out and looked under mine and all my screw, bolts, etc have paint marker on them as if they were "quality checked"?

I’ve had to deal with convincing people that marking fastener heads before installation is bad for QC outcomes(caught because I noticed the witness marks stopped going from the fasteners to the parts themselves).

I’m sure rivian people aren’t that lazy yet ??

Should have been more clear, they go from the bolt/etc on to the part they are securing. I'm a 4xxx. build.
