I couldn’t agree more. A Canadian specific update would be great to let us know they care about our market, and to manage expectations, even it means deliveries will begin in 2023

I wish there were even one email from the company acknowledging our existence up here. Would give me a bit of comfort that they haven’t forgotten about us.

So this guy from Alberta changed his delivery address to his Montana cabin and got one delivered there:

I have zero confidence that Rivian will do any deliveries this year in Canada, especially the R1S.
The R1S looks like it's going to be 2H 2023.

He could get a letter from Rivian stating it meets CMVSS, but good luck with that. It is not on the RIV admissible list though.

Form 1 is pretty easy otherwise.

CS told me today that I can expect to hear this week regarding delivery window (currently July-Sept). Seems fairly specific, but he couldn’t tell me if it was good or bad news. I also asked about First Drive events and he said to keep an eye on my inbox (in a more intentful way than I’ve been told before). So….. maaaaaybe something is happening…? Let’s see, I might just be seeing what I want to see in their comments.

He also said that because I have OC interior that deliveries will start Fall 2022, and that if I change interiors it could bump me up. This was all in reference to my questions re: the new R1 shop. And he did know I was in Canada

This has been my experience with CS chat since it was offered: no specific knowledge about Canada, simply repeating whats known about US deliveries to me.

If anyone with a Guide is reading this, could you please ask about the timeline for Canadian deliveries?

A friend of a friend is PR guy at rivian. I asked him if there’s any news and…nope. Canada soon.

Unless there are BC plates, this truck is almost certainly driven up from south of the border .

Rivian’s Canadian offices and along with them, a big chunk of their software development team are in Vancouver. There have been a few R1T kicking around, and only one with regular BC truck plates, and it was seen in the parking garage at rivian’s offices. And later at a park

This one doesn’t appear to have anything other than a temp registration.

Can. Deposit august 2019. Haven’t heard anything beyond the basic email, “you will be contacted by your guide and will have 5 days to arrange financing.”
