Just to clarify, that would be Android Automotive which is an OS and a completely different product from Android Auto which is not an OS. Google really botched their branding there.

There really aren't that many OSs suitable for the automotive infotainment space and I'd much prefer Android Automotive over say Microsoft (which generally seems to be falling out of favor with OEMs except for maybe VW).

Marketing folks that name stuff are the most over paid and under performing group in the Valley. We have similar problems at VMware.
