I am a member of the New England Electric Auto Association.
We have EV events throughout the year. Come join us if you want to show off your Rivian and meet fellow Rivian owners. I met another R1T owner who also works for Rivian at one of our events.
Last weekend, I brought my R1T to an EV event at a RibFest in Merrimack, NH. The R1T was a big hit. Some guy offered to buy mine. No way! https://neeaa.org/
We also have a Facebook group.
I’m taking my r1t to the Auto Innovation EV car show tomorrow 7/20 at the Kimball's in Lancaster MA. Should be there by 5-5:30.

Ok, I have a big ask for all of you that have trucks. Can you sign up and bring them to the “alternative motors” day at the Larz Anderson museum lawn event on August 20th from 9-1?
Also, please share this with others

Car shows at Larz are so much fun, and I haven't been in many years. Not sure what my schedule is in August yet but I'll consider it.

Wow! I’m headed there for the same thing, ppointment is tomorrow.
Same? Does it sound like a squeaky mattress with the torque pedal? I just found someone on the Discord with the same thing as well and they had to replace his whole subframe. If it's just metal rubbing and not a loose driveshaft than I would rather they just lube it and give me the truck back :)

It’s the sound of metal on metal creaking that happens going on and off the accelerator. I’m not sure if it’s suspension or drive motors but it seems louder when in conserve mode and quicker on and off the pedal is louder. I plan on keeping this beast for 15-20 years, so I want it right.

I’ll let you know how it goes.

PS there are a TON of trucks waiting to get delivered and there are now 4 flatbed trucks at the service center ready for deliveries!

Oh wow, yes, then we do have the same problem, and they will have two in at the same time for it (tell them to look at the forest green one...) It's not suspension because I've jumped up and down at all four corners and it's silent. I figured it might be the hydraulics rubbing against the pack that is a known issue, or a bad motor mount (cringe), or most simply a bad driveshaft. When I first realized it maybe 4 weeks ago I called very concerned.
There must of have been 40 trucks there yesterday, triple parked. I almost couldn't fit around back (following the arrows). Yeah they had the flatbeds there. Delivieries must really be in full swing! They said they only have 3 concurrent service appointments so it's all new trucks.

I've been insane putting my house on the market and getting it ready, and hopefully over this hump my August settles down. We will have to meet up soon. Or maybe it will be at the service center to visit our torn-down trucks. Did they give you a rental too? Hopefully not the same horrible RAV4 that I have.

There’s a big dirt pile at the Tufts baseball field, we could meet there ;)

I think they know what the issue is and have a solution as I’ve seen other people chatting about it.

I have transportation so didn’t take a rental and I agree that the RAV4 isn’t an ideal car.

I've been looking at your website for upcoming events since I'm not on f**book. The Wells event was something I was interested in to attend but have schedule conflicts. I'll keep checking throughout the months.

Question for MA owners... How did you get your truck inspected? I had two shops refuse to do it since I wouldn't let them jack it up from the control arms to check the ball joints. I talked to Rivian, and they said to only ever jack it up from the four jack points. The 3rd shop reluctantly gave me a sticker saying the ball joints are probably fine since it's brand new. They jacked it up from the 2 front jack points but said there's no way to really check the ball joints from there.

How are you needing inspections already? Have you had your truck for a year already?

I don’t remember them jacking the truck when I did the inspection and I was outside watching them. Maybe I missed it. I hope they didn’t.

MA requires inspection within 10 days of registration. Rivian doesn’t do it for you (neither does Tesla, but traditional dealers usually did it for you).

Mine did jack it up after assuring me that it was fine to do so. MA video records the inspections via a camera in the inspection bay. stations get in trouble if they don’t follow procedure. I need to find a local shop that will use the jack points for next year.

Yea, i had issues with the first shop not jacking mine up. The second just did it, but they dont actually lift it off the ground. I suspect the issue is that getting to the designated jack points is a pain since you have to remove panels.

I must have missed it then. I will do the same for next year. I never noticed them doing it for the my Model 3.

You need to have it inspected within 7 days of purchase. I’m a few weeks late :)
