I must have missed it then. I will do the same for next year. I never noticed them doing it for the my Model 3.

The shop I used refused to take off the panels to use the jack points. My guess is the want no liability if any trim piece breaks or just want to avoid the effort.

The best bet may be to either get the jack pucks or take off the panels yourself before going?

How are you needing inspections already? Have you had your truck for a year already?

You have to (supposed to anyway) get vehicles inspected within 7 days of purchase.
I let my guys use a jack after putting a block of wood on the jack. You can also buy a jacking puck online for ~$50 even though you’d assume the shops would have one at this point with lots of modern cars needing them.

There’s a small circular “cover” that gets popped off and snaps back in place afterwards. Yes they will be broken off over time with all of the off-roading I know I’ll be doing, over city sidewalks! My understanding is that the puck comes with the spare.

Quite a lot of trucks in Chelsea right now. Went by to pickup some paperwork yesterday. My delivery is scheduled for next week. Can’t wait!

Great to see how far they've come in the few months since opening the service center. Can't wait until the lot starts to fill with the R1S, too!

For the inspection questions, I had no issues with inspection here at Jack's Gas in Medford who has also inspected my Tesla no sweat. They didn't even try to jack the Rivian, probably because it was two days old and no one actually cares about these inspections anyway. When I had my tesla, I always carried two pucks in the trunk (so I could also change my own tires) that I would offer to inspectors. I plan to do the same when reasonably priced rivian pucks become available.
As for the bigger question, the only people who actually care about inspection stickers are city meter maids. I bought my first car here without knowing about it and went the first 8 months without one, and usually push an extra month without issue (but I park off street). Cops have pulled me over for plenty of other reasons and never once mentioned or cared about inspection sticker. Don't stress if you can't get one right away. But it's laughable that places won't even touch it. Now you know not to do business with them. Find a local shop with a real mechanic that is actually a car guy and they will be super interested and excited to inspect and check out your new truck.

I was driving in Quincy yesterday and saw a yellow R1T parked with back towards the road and it also had the cross bars. Was this you by any chance? The yellow looks stunning

In Stowe Vermont, I have seen two different Rivian's this week, grey(?) and Blue. Also so the 21's. They look much better (and able to do light offloading I think than I had thought).

If you are looking to get PPF for your car, I highly recommend this shop. This is the second car I brought to AutoNuvo (Tesla M3 4 years ago). James and his team did a great job back then with the Tesla and again with the R1T. I went with the full body package this time and the car looks great!

This is a custom job right? Not the Xpel/Rivian template and special pricing? I contacted a shop in Andover about doing the full stealth… but they don’t recommend the template and pricing that Rivian and Xpel came up with… since there’s no color correction or custom wrapping. I just don’t know if $6,500 for the custom is worth the investment… but it would look amazing with our limestone? Rivian price is $4,500.
