I can tell you almost every truck in the Shop has 21s. So that's what they are building extras of. Can't speak to whether the 22s are in short supply.
Thanks for the quick response. At this stage the only communications I get from Rivian are the ones that are form letters. I don't have a guide and when I've chatted via the web site the only response is that they can't really tell. I have NO IDEA when to expect my vehicle, which is starting to get frustrating, especially seeing later orders delivered. I guess I need the secret decoder ring to figure out what to order!

I am 11/21 R1S with Ocean Coast interior. I really don't expect until about a year from now. If it comes this year great. If not, okay, wasn't expecting it. When I was the Venice R1S viewing last week, one the staff from the service center said probably sooner than that but who knows.

I haven heard a peep from Rivian other than the general email that goes out to everyone.
When was your original delivery estimate?

1st half 2023 or 2nd half 2023? I would be very surprised if you have it 1 year from now, but who knows. I am a pessimist with this stuff, but it seems the common theme with updated R1S delivery windows is that almost all are pushed back to some extent. Not all... But nearly all.

Even if your original estimate was 1st half 2023, as was my original estimate for the R1S I configured, I think end of 2023 is the soonest it can get delivered.

Nearly every single timeline goal Rivian has ever made gets pushed way back over and over again. I won't put trust in any R1S delivery estimates until we see them start making customer deliveries at a decent rate. So far they have made zero R1S deliveries outside of a few employee beta testers.

There is a real possibility of your delivery estimate getting pushed back not just once, but multiple times over the next year. That's the way it has gone for a lot of the R1T preorders taking delivery this year.

Don't be surprised if your R1S is pushed back to 2024. I think the employee who said it likely will come this year is either smoking crack. Unless you are an employee or have access to the friends and family program... That would negate any of my predictions.

No I am not an employee or anyone with million follower.

Also, no one said this year. He simply said probably sooner than the original date of 2H23.

The problem with your expectation is that its only backward looking. Things change and at times very quickly. Supplies are shortages are laxing, and production rates are improving. Cancellations are also happening as people either give up or buy another. Don't forget the recession that may hit potential buyers.

While I fully understand and appreciate your views, I disagree with them. Call me delusional but I'm sure that you hope I'm closer to what happens than yours...

I hope for our sake our sake your prediction is closer than mine. Like I said... I fully admit my view on vehicle delivery is pessimistic.

It's pessimistic for a reason though. After special ordering a 2021 Mach E, 2022 Lightning, Cyber truck, and Rivian, and most recently Cadillac Lyric, I've yet to see a company not announce delay after delay.

Ford is the only company that mostly hits their expected deadlines on new EV production and deliveries, but even with Ford there are exceptions and problems along the way.

The Lyriq has been ahead of schedule, hasn't it?

They literally just started 2023 deliveries and are only delivering a handful this year. Nobody knows anything about next year, so time will tell. I ordered a day after 2023 orders opened up, and my dealer estimates I'll get it late 2023 or early 2024.

I included the Lyriq in my post because I ordered one, not because they experienced delays.

Since they literally just starting taking 2023 orders, they haven't had any time to experience delays yet. We will see how it goes I guess.
