Official email from Rivian offering Binding Purchase Agreement

I have an R1T delivery in progress and a separate order for an R1S submitted on July 27th.

Obviously the R1T I will qualify for the tax credit, however no email for the R1S. Under current law you can get tax credits for more than one vehicle in a tax year.

Has anyone else with a recent order received the email? Curious if it's based on number of orders, or if they don't think my recent R1S order will happen in the 2023 calendar year, thus making the credit worthless.

Yes. i have my truck and have a may reservation for an R1S and got(and signed) the email.

I tried to sign it but just keeps asking me to enter my name and email.

Make sure you are using the exact same name and email they are expecting in the url. I also had to switch browsers.

So, this line is making me not want to sign this:

"You hereby create a binding contract with Rivian obligating you to purchase the Vehicle. "

I'm still not certain I will buy the Truck.

Maybe this is just required for the contract itself. Rivian will have no issues selling the Truck if I decide not to take it and would just let me walk away and give me back $900... Wouldn't they

The most important email this company could send, and it only sends to a group of people. I didn't get one. This is obnoxious. I reached out yesterday and they confirmed all would get it.

Chill for a bit ..... Bulk email systems don't send everything at once, it gets sent in groups over hours. Otherwise it can be detected as a spamming server and blacklisted.

Looking forward to the RIVN earnings call Tomorrow. They will have to say something about this whole thing and perhaps will change the reservation number for all EV reservations out there.

Since many people have multiple reservations with intent to only buy one, the binding contract will certainly filter out many with a wide net.

Guys, I'm still trying to confirm...my document doesn't have my name anywhere...only states, "customer signature". Is that what all yours say as well? Seems like anyone could just print that and sign it...

I will not hit the new income limits @ 300K. So I am fine there.

Is there any other reason I should sign this.

Not even 100% certain I'll take the Rivian, but I've left the option open (I am getting the Lightning delivered any day now).

Yes. There are other provisions related to battery sourcing etc that preclude a lot of vehicles form qualifying.

I was a Ocean Coast pre order holder forever... but its not worth $7500 to me (I will hit the income exclusion). I switched to LG/FE and signed it. That had always been a close 2nd and it made sense.

I am in essentially the same boat - my configuration is under $80k and I am under the income restrictions for the new law as well. The only other reason I could think of to sign it was the battery sourcing requirements in the new law. We don't know where Rivian would shake out on that but I suspect they would not qualify. Still just guesswork though....

Literally every time people say this and I literally never get the email. In fact the website says "Soon" we'll be reached out to. I almost guarantee it won't happen by when the bill gets signed. Sigh.
