I currently have an R1S preordered, but am considering switching to an R1T. I will be mounting my hardshell, 78” long RTT. If I were to get an R1T, I would also have to get a tall, roof height, bed mounted rack on which to mount my tent. Hopefully, the aftermarket will have such racks available by the time I get my vehicle. The problem may be, the tent would hover over the antenna. The $64K question is, would this significantry affect the antenna reception?

it depends on several things, but the big factor is how much metal is in the tent assembly. The more metal, the bigger the potential impact. And believe it or not, it could improve the signal in some directions.

Hmmm. It’s a fully enclosed fiberglass box. It does have metal struts at the inside corner that support it when open and a couple of external metal mounting tracks built into the fiberglass. If I were to mount it roughly even with the tailgate, it would overhang the roof and antenna by about 2’.

It will probably have very minimal impact. Fiberglas is essentially "transparent" to RF.
