My husband and I stopped by the Denver service center just now. There are three R1S’ inside the building. launch green, rivian blue and an el cap. The launch green one was charging. You have to peak in the windows to be able to see them.
Hopefully they will be making people in CO very happy soon.
That is too funny...I'm sure we saw you. I stopped by yesterday on the way to the museum with my 9 year old. A nice gentleman that was helping a couple w/ their truck asked if he could help me with anything. Conversation went something like this:

"Do you happen to have any R1S's lying around"?

"Yeah, we got our first ones. <he seemed very excited> They are being 'prepped' now".

"Any chance I could sneak a peek? I'm expecting one anytime now as I have an aug/september delivery window and I have yet to see one in person. I'm assuming that those customers have been notified already."

"Do you have a Guide assigned?"

"Yeah, several months back...."

"The fact that you have a Guide is a really good sign". We can't let you inside, but you can go around the side of the building and peek in through the window."

I would have asked a ton more questions but he was clearly trying to help some customers out. He was nice enough to answers some questions which I appreciated.

Anyway - here are the pics taken thru the massive glare in the window.

The LG was only a few feet away...very cool to see up close. The other two were tucked way back on the right.

Was it your guide or CS who told you this? I spoke to CS about the same question and they said that I should probably not change anything and ask my guide once I get assigned about whether switching to OC will cause a delay. Which is a non-answer, I know.
Guide. He recommended I change it asap, and said he'd keep a close eye on early deliveries to see if OC might be causing a delay.

But their new guidance is the updated OC does NOT cause a delay and will be in regular production.

But it's Rivian so who knows.

R1S VIN assigned, and 3/8 steps completed.
Waiting on my insurance agent to open tomorrow morning to complete that step, and I’m hoping for delivery at the Plymouth service center very soon.
My VIN is in the 400s

This is encouraging and congrats. You had an Oct/Dec window and already received your vin. Maybe there is hope for me too. Reserved 11/27/2018.

That is too funny. We were probably there about the same time. I didn’t even bother to take pictures of the LG one. The glare was bad. Lol
I took a couple pictures of the blue R1S from the front. We didn’t talk to anyone. They were all busy it seemed.
That is exciting you may be getting yours soon. We ordered in Oct of 2020 and the latest delivery update bumped us from July-September to 1H23. ?.
Hoping for a miracle for a delivery this year.

I was told it does cause delay.

Since the OC update this week?

Originally I was told it caused a delay, but since the update I was told it shouldn't. They're pushing out R1Ts with OC right now, but I haven't seen any R1S' with it (only a handful of confirmed R1S 8 steps, all BM)

Ya I was told this after the update but I wouldn't put a ton of stock into it to be honest. It's not unusual to get conflicting information from different people or different departments. I happen to like the new oc a bit better than the bm so considered changing my configuration but don't like it enough to risk a significant delay.

Yeah, I wish they could just be clear. They must have a production sheet of specs they're building to end of year. We know they're doing batches, so it should be simple enough to tell us if that's an even number of BM/FE/OC or if one is getting significantly more runs

I know they're building R1Ts with OC now, so it's just a matter of whether they have the R1S seats in OC and if they are planning to run batches of them.

Has anyone besides those with original delivery dates in 2022 received an updated delivery window? Mine was originally 1st half 2023 and I haven’t heard anything. I was just wondering if any other 1st half 2023s had heard anything.
I chatted with a support person at Rivian (Text chat) last week asking when I might get an update on ETA delivery (should I expect 23 or 24 before I take delivery) and he said emails are going out by end of summer to everyone and followed that up with summer ends in a few weeks so I'd expect an email in the next few weeks.
I asked specifically if I should think 2024 realistically and he said "No, you should expect some time in 2023"...we'll see. For context, I placed my order April 2022 so not long ago.

FYI, I took delivery Monday 8/29. 2 weeks from receiving the initial 8 step notification. Chicago burbs.

R1S is great. Loving it so far. Will post a few pics later...haven't had a chance yet.

Same for me… updated delivery window is August/September, but no guide contact yet. Chat with CS on Thursday who indicated everything still on track for delivery by end of September. I’m about 15 miles from service center in the Twin Cities… 2/19 pre-order, R1S, El Cap, BM, Underbody Shield and 22” Sport brights.
