No intensity settings, just on/off per mirror, and no controls for them in the app.

I've been waiting for this. From driving a Tesla I've become accustomed to the SOC vs miles because the miles estimate was mostly useless.

How do you switch the display from miles to SOC?

Well Tesla never made a vehicle I was interested in, so can't comment on its accuracy, but the range estimation in my R1T has been spot on within a couple of miles every time I use the navigation. Still, I like having the SOC too.

This whole SoC thing is curious to me. I’ll agree to disagree with those who find it useful. Didn’t we already have it in the form of a graphic? My truck certainly has an image of a battery that changes as SoC decreases (or increases). I can look at it and have a very good idea of % remaining. I have the same feature on my phone.

I guess from Rivian’s standpoint, this is a low hanging fruit that makes some people happy, so good on them. But it definitely did not add anything useful (to me).

Is this your 1st EV? We are on our 5th and I personally find SOC much more useful than miles. On an ICE vehicle miles till empty is useful but you still also use a gauge to determine when to fill your tank. If I drive like I stole it "miles range" on my EV's is pretty much useless IMO.

yes, it’s my first EV. Even with SoC, if you start your day driving gently, then get spirited, your SoC is not going to be accurate either. If I’m driving and I need to get 50 more miles, I have no idea what percentage that is. I have noticed That the displayed miles remaining is fairly accurate. If anything, it underestimates the figure. I personally drive miles and not percent.

Nobody else can do this unless they have disconnecting sway bars. Most vehicles have fixed sway bars, so you can’t arbitrarily raise one side of the axle without the other following along. The hydraulic “sway bars” on the Rivian allow this sort of 4-corner control.

It seems that if you activate the 120 volt outlets the old way (under the lightning bolt icon) there is no 24 hour limit. So you can either turn them on from the camp mode and get a max limit, or not.

This is seems like the best of both worlds. Between the leveling, the courtesy mode, the floodlights, and the reduced vampire drain this is a great update!
