This just got pushed to my truck. Unfortunately this is my second push that’s taken place “in captivity” of the SC.

One day I’ll have a working truck with the experience of an “in the wild” OTA update. One day.

yeah, still no update here either ??‍♂

Just got it this morning. The window venting and frunk controls via the app is a great addition.

Just installed the update and right away I noticed power steering does not work while in park. This is a good thing! I could hear the power steering pump running at idle all the time. I’d bet this has something to do with the vampire drain improvement mentioned in the release notes.

So everyone is just updating on 2.4ghz? The antenna in the Rivian is REALLY weak. I literally have the truck parked within 15 - 20 feet of modem and barely gets 1 bar. My phone gets full bars.
I had a conversation with a service tech where he noted how ridiculously weak the wifi antenna was on the Rivian. I had to add a mesh node in my garage so it would connect to my wifi.

yes, it’s my first EV. Even with SoC, if you start your day driving gently, then get spirited, your SoC is not going to be accurate either. If I’m driving and I need to get 50 more miles, I have no idea what percentage that is. I have noticed That the displayed miles remaining is fairly accurate. If anything, it underestimates the figure. I personally drive miles and not percent.
I agree. I don't understand the interest in percent. A person needs to know the range, and then calc the miles, to know if I can get from point A to point B. Can I drive from Denver to Colorado Springs with 25%? Why not just show you the miles?

However, percent is useful enroute AND there's little margin for error. Ie: if I leave Denver and the truck says I'll have 5% when I arrive in Colorado Springs, I need to make sure that 5% doesn't go lower. If I'm half way there and it drops to 4, then 3% then 2%, I know need to open windows, turn off AC and slow down or look for a charger enroute. I drive to keep the 5 at 5. (Don't mean to sound preachy)

Maybe a silly question about camp mode: is the vehicle put in camp mode just be opening the camp mode screen? In this sense, it’s therefore not like the driving modes nor like service modes (car wash, shipping, etc.) that are selected by pushing a button in a specific screen or sub-menu.

Edit:Rivian refers to camp mode as a standalone app so that would make sense.

Since historically, range figures have not been accurate in many EV's, knowing the percentage is better for people to determine how much battery they have left. No different than all gas gauges that display - Empty - 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - Full. Some people would prefer to make their own calculations.

Has anyone launched their R1 post update? Idk if it’s just me but it feels significantly faster on launch than it did prior. I had all 4 wheels spinning on first post update launch. The notes didn’t say anything about performance changes but something definitely changed.

Maybe you've already wore the tread of your original tires :)
