I had a thread out there between these 2 colors and the FE interior, but now I have a new issue lol...would you guys pay 5k more from a dealer over a private seller?

Here is the situation...the LG from a dealer has 6500 miles on it with a VIN of 4500 with a price tag of $110k...the private seller has a limestone with 100 miles with a VIN of 9500 for $105k...not sure if the earlier models had more problems or not.

The dealer would have ready transportation so I wouldnt have to deal with any of that and I would not have to fly out there or anything to make sure the deal happens...on the other hand im not sure how I would have to proceed with the individual and I would have to find my own transporting. The transportation from both locations would be about 900 miles and I have no intentions of driving it back.

question is would you pay 5k more for a truck that has higher miles (even though it is still fairly new) for convenience (I love both colors equally at this point)? or just deal with the extra issues and get the newer truck? forgot to mention the lg has 20" AT wheel/tire combo and the limestone has the non upgraded 21" highway.

I sort of need to know within 3 hours so quick responses would be greatly appreciated

I would never pay a penny over MSRP for ANY depreciating asset like an automobile. The Rivian R1T
is no exception.
then you dont make enough money...=) just kidding lol

whether you will or not i guess kind of doesnt matter because I am going to pay over especially since the cost of a brand new one for me at this point is going to be in that $100k range anyway...just configured one exactly like the one im talking about.

i dont mind paying a little more than what I could get one brand new to not have to wait a year or longer for the one i want and I definitely want to get out of my model x

Limestone truck unless you plan on getting into another one in the next year.

so you have no issues with the added headaches of transportation or planning with an individual?

It seems like if you are planning on keeping it for awhile, the headache and extra effort now doesn’t really factor much. In the long run you will just have a truck that you bought and you will either wish you had gotten LG or Limestone. So the question is which do you want. And even beyond that you will probably like whichever one you get, so maybe you just get the better price and move on.

The one question is how do you get Rivian to transfer the vehicle to your account. I guess it has been done. Not sure what that process is like.

That's a question you will have to answer for yourself.

Does the private party have the title in hand and no lien on the vehicle? Those would be the important things to know for me.

You are looking for FE interior only, correct?

do the wheels matter to you? 20s if youre going to be doing offroading. possibly 21s if little or no offroading, but also have to factor in the 21s are a custom size tire meaning, its 1of 1 in the world so you wont have as many options in the short term.

LG is also launch edition while it sounds like the Limestone is Adventure trim, in case that matters to you.

any other difference in the trucks? spare tire? underbody shield?

If you don't care about color, get the Limestone truck. It is $5000 cheaper and is essentially brand new. The FG already has 6500 miles of someone else's sweat and farts.

Transpo will be somewhere around $1500-2500 depending on whether it's open or closed transport. Its very easy to set up.

The only other issue is wheels (assuming all other specs are the same) and it's up to you whether or not you want range or AT wheels.

There's no advantage to buying from a dealer or private party. The dealer doesn't represent Rivian.

Launch edition doesn't make it special or add any extra value for resale.

(For what it's worth I have an LG/FE from the 45xx batch and the only issue is the broken tonneau which will break on all early trucks. )
