Definitely an option. I'm going to get the R1S before we even see the first EV9 delivery.

If I'm head over heels with the R1S then I'm sticking to it. If not, I'll definitely give the EV9 a good look.

First OC confirmation I know. This was posted in Facebook R1S group, so I would think this is really R1S. I'll be happy to see an Adventure confirmed and mine will not be long after that, I hope.

CS told me today on chat that deliveries have begun for the R1S with Adventure Package. I did not expect that answer, and I'm very skeptical. Has anyone seen evidence of an R1S Adventure delivery?

Other tidbits: another vote for delivery windows by end of summer. And no date yet for startup of the R1S shop.

I think there is a ton of momentum on the production side and my guess is that some folks who are expecting delivery next year may be pleasantly surprised. That being said the next bottleneck might be logistics if there is a major railroad strike.

My initial reaction is that we would have heard in this forum that a non-LE R1S is about to get delivered...then again maybe it's only a matter of time.

I definitely believe that I'm more likely to see my delivery in Q1 instead of the large range of 1H

I preordered R1S in Nov 2019.

Latest delivery window was Aug - Sept

no guide contact, no nothing, until…

9/1 received the email that my config was ready to confirm, set up guide call, completed 8 steps the same day. As others have said at this point you can not make changes without guide contact so I believe at this point you have been assigned a vehicle that matches what you configured. This is in line with the previous info provided from rivian about how delivery’s would go. I was also given a vin at this point…. The guid didn’t have any info at all on timing.

I didn’t hear anything at all until 9/13 (yesterday) I received an email that my charger shipped. Then I received an email later that day that it was ready for delivery and made an appointment for 9/16 (tomorrow) for delivery.

It all seemed to happen really fast.

At least you are getting a service center built in BC. There is no word yet for the rest of the country. My guess is that you will get delivery much earlier than the rest of Canada.

Yup. With no word at all about where other SCs might even be an of course zero communication from Rivian, I think they'll plow through the BC orders first, then Calgary and Edmonton. My guess is a GTA SC would be the second SC they build, but who knows?!?

It will be interesting to see what their strategy is for Canada. I don't think they will have a rapid build of service centers like they did in the states. It doesn't make sense to have a bunch a buildings that you have to staff and maintain when you can't deliver enough vehicles to keep them busy. Will they roll out from west to east or build SC's based on market size. Personally I would be happy with a 2024 delivery.

There's just SO MUCH opportunity in the GTA. Something like what 1/5 or 1/6 of Canada's population lives in the GTA? Not opening one in the GTA right off the bat would be a mistake imo. With all the other manufacturers around the corner launching competitors to the R1T/S it might be lots of lost opportunity. I've always said, after BC, I see them going with GTA, Alberta and Montreal - we may see a pause after that for a bit.

I agree completely. The original planned service center map only showed one service center between Ontario and Quebec and it wasn't completely clear which side of the border it was on. It would be hard and expensive to service the GTA from there.
