What I was just told by my Guide:

Hi, your order is pending fulfillment so it shouldn't be much longer before you are pulled and eight steps are unlocked. We are prioritizing 2018 and 2019 orders for access to the R1 Shop at this time
My order has been pending for about 4 weeks. This doesn't really seem to help moosetags too much, but may provide context for others who aren't getting Shop access

Idk if this is all related to 3q push. I selected a car yesterday when a ton got released and had a call with my guide. The car is sitting in normal and she expects 6 to 8 weeks on the safe side. Maybe 4 weeks if I'm lucky.

If you read what folks are posting with regards to having shop access and date when they placed their reservation, you will see that even late 3rd quarter of 2021 gives them Shop access. This Guide who told you about prioritizing 2018 and 2019 does not know what he/she is talking about.

There appears to be a lot of discretion that Guides have with regards to giving Shop access or not.

Can anyone that still has shop access post what is left from yesterday's drop?
Probably 20. I just pulled the trigger on an LE with ocean coast for $73k. Power tonneau and 20s. Woot. Guess I won't be updating this thread any longer. Good luck all!

as of a minute ago there are still 29 R1Ts in the shop. Great to hear you got a vehicle @Timo. Hope to see you driving around San Diego.

Dang, I'm happy to be about to take delivery of my Rivian Blue / Ocean Coast / 20" At Adv, but I certainly would've taken a Launch Edition for lower price...

@ImAI For the record, guides aren’t the ones who grant shop access. Their systems assign guides based on configuration and order dates and in some cases their can be favoritism clearly, but once a guide is assigned, then the systems start to assign shop access based on those who have guides. In other words, if you don’t have a guide, you can’t expect to have shop access. Guides used to have much more pull on how and when you get matched since it was a very manual process, but since like May, they revamped their processes to try to eliminate that manual part and make it more system driven to account for people getting vehicles much earlier then they probably should be. Clearly, there are some instances of that still happening but other factors like quarter end, delivery timing, location, etc all get factored in which are variables that are all weighted in the system.

Not really thrilled with my guide's responses. I picked up one of the configurations on Wednesday afternoon (LE, LA Silver, OC interior, powered tonneau, 21" road wheels). This is what I recently changed my configuration to (had been waiting on the max pack). I think the same configuration was available at the time with 20" all-terrains (no cost upgrade for the LE). I texted my guide right away about the possibility of changing my selection since I lost shop access. Took them over 2 hours to respond to the text and didn't get a confirmation until Thursday morning. I tried calling multiple times as well but it always went to a mailbox. Thursday morning I sent another text at 9am and didn't get a reply until 1:30pm. The LE, LA Silver with 20" all-terrains was no longer available. Guess what truck I asked about...LE in LE Green, OC interior, powered tonneau, 20" all-terrains). Your response doesn't specifically say you got it in LE Green, but I'm guessing you might have. If so, it leaves me even more unhappy with my guide since I requested that config 2 hours before you. I know this is all my own doing, but now I'm second guessing myself and wondering if I should wait for the max pack after all. Has anyone selected a truck from the shop and then backed out to go back in line?

To your point, I don't even HAVE a guide yet. Have had access to the shop for a few weeks. Just ordered off the shop yesterday. In the 8 step process and no guide yet.

Sorry to hear this. It is the Launch Green so might have been the same truck. I was standing in line at the gate in Newark when I decided to check the store and saw all the options. Launch Green was my family's second favorite after Limestone, so when I spotted it the decision was easy.

Hah, and just like that I suddenly have a guide. Makes you wonder if maybe they're watching these forums. :)

your signature says you ordered 6 days ago... that's probably the main reason you don't have a guide or shop access maybe?

I’ve had shop access since late July and didn’t even know I had a guide until I got an email from them late last month that they were moving to a different position. ??‍♂

Ugh, that hurts but glad you got it. Enjoy the truck! I’ve asked my guide if it’s possible to cancel my shop order and go back into line. Trying to weigh up taking the LE now or waiting for the max pack or switching to the R1S. I don’t expect an answer until late Monday, LOL.
