When will R1 Shop start having R1S listed?

any guess on when the R1S shop will start having vehicles? or rather when the R1 Shop will have R1Ss?

R1Ts started delivering to employees Sep 2021, R1 Shop opened in June 2022, ~8-9 months.
R1Ss started delivering to employees June/July 2022. things are accelerated with the R1S so i'm hypothetically saying half the time, so ~4-5 months?

so based on that, total speculation, we might see the Shop have R1Ss by Nov/Dec 2022? one can dream right?


the other thing that can accelerate this is more people refusing delivery, changing configs, or canceling orders.

I don't think the timeline for start of production to R1 shop for the R1T is applicable to the R1S because I think the shop was basically a solution to a problem they ran into during production. I'd guess we start seeing R1S in the shop by mid-November.

What about vehicles NOT built to fill specific orders ... for batching and manufacturing efficiency? How would you classify the available R1S's that guides currently have access to (see thread below in which the OP said the guide offered several alternative paint colors)?

In the R1S world, it appears that guides are allocating unclaimed vehicles. In the R1T world, unclaimed vehicles move to the R1 Shop. As I understand Rivian's methods, having a guide assigned is a prerequisite for both methods. That protocol disqualifies many of us, regardless of our preorder date.

Regarding the OP's question ... my guess is October or November.

i think the manual allocation by Guides is Rivian's attempt to get deliveries to earliest order holders. i have a feeling that will only go for a few months and then they will start dumping into the Shop.

your point about batch building makes sense. i think that too might be timed with the manual allocations. in other words, once they hit a "meaningful" number of long time order holders, they will move to the Shop model like with the R1T.

I had an R1T Max Pack preorder from 2020, and I had access to the R1T Shop.

Just a few minutes ago, I changed my preorder to an R1S, and now I have access to the R1S shop. There are no vehicles in it, but it said to check back tomorrow.

Maybe some hope? Or maybe it will have that same message every day. ?

nope, thats what its been for over a month now. i was originally R1T, had Shop access, switched to R1S, never seen an R1S in there.
